Yes I know Dack was dead its Jackie we weretalking about.
  6. Jackie was the daughter of Leonard Katzman. She died of lupus at 35. The kid that played Trotter was bisexual and died of AIDS. Dack Rambo died at age 52 of AIDS.

I know- several tragic stories behind the scenes. Dack was a terrible actor on the show, though- just dreadful.

I've heard/read that Larry Hagman wasn't the kindest guy when it came to both the actor of Micky Trotter and Dack Rambo when it came to their sexual preference. Any evidence on this subject? I heard this is why the actor who played Trotter left...which in itself doesn't make sense unless he wanted his character to die, but I don't see the writers doing that....I see the writers writing off/killing off newer characters because of possible shock value and with evidence from different interviews.

I've often wondered at that suggestion about Larry. I believe he has denied it so we can only give him the benefit of the doubt. Shame those actors died of AIDS. It was such a bigger killer in the 80s. It didn't help that Reagan cut the funding for AIDS research and his propaganda machine made it out that it was a "gay" disease.

I have never ever heard anything about Mickey Trotter and anything Hagman might have said. I would love to know that.

The Dack Rambo controversy is well-known. In fact, so well- known, Hagman addressed it in his Achival interview of the Television Academy- it is five long parts and used to be on youtube- I think you can find it on youtube here

I remember watching it years, Hagman says he didn't even know Dack Rambo was gay- it was Dack Rambo himself who made the comments about Hagman- Hagman completely denies it and I kinda believe him- although if he was drinking so much, maybe he doesn't remember that much, but it just seems to me Hagman would be in his own world and he does not seem like someone who would take that much of an interest in anyone but his own circle- some of these people can be pretty self-absorbed. Although Hagman made belittling comments about homosexuals around 1980, I think he could be characterized as a homophobe back then- which I think is where this all comes from- I sincerely doubt he holds that opinion today or has for the last 20 years or so. He obviously regrets the past behavior because he has gone out of his way to defend himself, if he did do something like that, he's not too proud of it.

I knew Dack Rambo had died.
But I didn't know the actors for Jackie or Mickey Trotter had!
