I always got the impression the stuff with Chris was phony. I never bought it. But at this point Chris hates her as he believes she nearly got him killed. And then Mateo and her own family - they despise her for Drew's death. Chris has been learning how to run Ewing Oil as JR would have done and Mateo isn't the kind of man you want angry with you, let alone hating you.

I'm guessing about 10. Kids grow up fast on soaps. He is leaning to be protective of his mother. And while his parents haven't filled his head with anything bad about Elena, the Ramos's have. And it would be difficult for him not to listen to them as she is their side of the family.

Chris might want to worry - what if Jack wants Ewing Oil?

Lucy is the head of the family and it's not going to be easy to find a place for Mitch and keep this crew together.

The board of Trident begins to gather and Pamela says to Elena, "You don't really think getting into this company gets at John Ross do you?"

    "He loves his businesses."

"No he doesn't. He loves his family. And I'll admit someplace inside him he still loves you."

    "Don't worry I don't want him back."

Pamela laughs. "Oh I'm not worried about that. It's not his love for me that keeps him faithful. It's my love for him. He won't risk that for you or anyone else."

"I wouldn't be so sure with John Ross about something like that."

Pamela chuckles. "I'm as certain of it as I am that you regret what you did to him, and that if I died tomorrow, it'd make you very happy."

    "I don't want him back."

"You're either lying to me or yourself. Maybe both. You did a good job all those years pretending to love Chris. I'd watch his wife if I were you."

    "I'm not worried about her."

"Didn't say you should be. I said watch her. But you and Chris. You two deserve each other."

    "What's that mean?"

    "Bitter, disillusioned and foolish."

    "Whatever."

"You know you hurt him, right?"

    "Who?"

"John Ross. I mean you're just one in a long list of people who hurt him, but you did hurt him."

"That doesn't mean he should keep my son from me."

"No it doesn't. And if Jack wanted to see you, he'd support him. Your problem isn't me or John Ross. It's Jack. We only told him of your existence and that you associated with some bad people and were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Your family made you out to be evil. Not the Ewings."

"I know. I spoke to Mateo."

"So what's the point in investing in Trident? You're only gonna pass off Chris."

"Just business. Everything John Ross touches turns to gold, doesn't it?"

"Listen, you give me time and I'll get Jack to speak to you. He is curious. But right now he thinks he's being loyal to me."

"I guess I can see that."

"Jack won't let you hurt me. And I won't let you hurt him."

"I just want to know him. I want him to know I love him."

"You're not capable of love," Chris says approaching the two of them. "You're a drug pushing, addle-brained tramp."

    "Christopher!" Pamela admonishes.

"It's true. They going through her boy Nick's finances. Billions in drug laundered money. How much drug money you get in your hands Elena?"

"This isn't going to get us anywhere." Pamela says.

Chris adds, "Oh and let's not deny tramp. I hear you and old Weston, well they say he died in the sheets."

Elena says, "But addle-brained? That's a new one. I've never been accused of being addle brained." Elena walks to her place at the table.

The ranch is alive with a South Fork barbecue. Everyone's eating, drinking, chatting.

Lucy says to Elena who's walked up from the driveway, "Watch your self."

Mateo approaches John Ross at the bar, "You know I respect you and he is your son."

"I know where you stand Mateo. And he's your nephew. And I respect that. What I need is you to kept close tabs on Elena. Nicholas finally got a hold of her?"

    "Yes he did."

"Dumb move on his part," John Ross smirks.

    "Last move."

"You're nothing if not patient. And yes he's my son. And yes I agree with you, but Pamela doesn't. She just thinks, what if this was her and Chris had taken her children away from her, like he threatened to do."

"Chris is going after some huge leases we've gotta talk about."

    "What do you mean?"

"Chris is gambling everything. Now he's good. And I'm sure it'll pay off, but it's a huge risk. My guess is he's looking for huge returns to get at Trident."

"What for? We already control Trident."

"You do. He doesn't. He's using Ewing Oil to prop up some of his plays. This don't work out, your cousin is broke."

"But with Chris we know it'll work."

"As long as you don't have me get in the way, or somebody else doesn't decide to get in the way."

"You make sure no body gets in the way."

"Will do." Mateo pats John Ross's shoulder than says, "I'll respect you and Pamela over Elena, but she still isn't family as far as I'm concerned."

"And I respect that." John Ross holds up his glass and nods.

Elena sits with Pamela watching the kids play tag in the yard.

"He is happy isn't he?" Elena notes.

"I think so. He likes being big brother."

"I can't get over how smart he is. I mean high school math."

"Well I've heard you were pretty smart yourself."

"Well couldn't have been too smart. Look where I ended up."

    "Bad company that's all."

"I blamed John Ross for lying and cheating just like JR and then . . . I end up going to Nicholas for help."

"We've all done things we shouldn't have."

"Yeah, but I lost everything. If I'd had stood by John Ross, been there for him like he'd always been there for me, I'd be sitting where you're at. Instead my own family hates me. My child doesn't even know me and when I go home tonight, I'm alone."

"But now you can start over."

"No I can't. No matter who I go home with now, I won't trust them. Probably never will. So I've got nothing, but maybe a chance that boy will care about me."

"You can't make it about him living you. It's about you living him. That's it. Unconditional. You and Mateo speaking?"

"He won't even look at me except to stare me down. I don't know if I'd be any different in his place."

"I saw you speaking to Lucy when you got here."

"She was reminding me to watch myself."

"What do you plan on doing now that you're on the board of Trident?"

"I spoke to Dia afterwards. I want to be involved. Apparently Trident is leasing Chris's methane extraction technology. I told him I can make it happen. I showed him I understand the technology. Maybe better than Chris. Chris always got the mechanics, not the geology. He's made me Executive Vice President in charge of Alternative Extraction."

    "Impressive."

"I told him I want his job, one day."

    "What'd he say?"

"If I can pull off this methane extraction he said once he's ready to step down, he might just recommend me."

"Well see you're putting your life back together, one step at a time."

"I made Jack my sole heir and John Ross his trustee. I want to leave him something of the oil business. Something big."

"Well, you've certainly got a lot of money to do that. But I don't think money is going to solve your problem with Jack."

"No. But it's something. Better than what my parents left me. You know Bobby me through college."

"Yes I do. Do you know it was because John Ross asked him to?"

    "No I didn't know that."

"That's what Bobby told me. It hadn't dawn on him until John Ross brought it up."

Lucy approaches Dia by the pool. "Why have you given Elena Ramos a job?"

"Well, she knows what I need and she's a major stockholder, and John Ross agreed."

    "Agreed? Why?"

"Like I said she knows the technology she'll be working. I really don't think you have anything to worry about, with the Ewing shares your family is firmly in control of the company."

"What's this I hear about a merger with Ewing Oil."

"Not so much a merger as working out the details of control. Ewing Oil controls Trident, in addition to its operations in alternative energy R and D and oil field services. The Ewings in turn control Ewing Oil. We're just putting the finishing touches on the arrangements."

    "So you work for Chris?"

    "Yes. You could say that."

    "And Elena works for you?"

    "Not directly, but yes."

"Just keep an eye on her. I don't want anymore of her scheming causing this family harm."

    "Of course not."

Pamela holds John Ross's hand as they walk away from the family gathering into the yard. He says, "You're shaking."

"I've got something to tell you?"

    "What is it?"

    "They found a mass."

    "What? Jack? Does he know?"

"Not Jack. He's fine. Doctors couldn't be more happy . . . Me. My breast."

    John Ross holders her tight.

    Finally an update! :)
I'm glad Pamela's helping Elena patch things up with her son. Even though I can see why she's doing it. She's afraid she won't live and if she doesn't she wants John Ross to have someone... :(

But well Pamela's gonna pull through. She just has to. She and John Ross has been through too much to have it all end like that!

Thank you. The Ewings are headed for a business fight over Ewing Oil, but John Ross will have to show he cares more family than business. If he looses her it certainly won't be with her wondering if he loves her. And no Elena could never replace her.

There's a lot of yelling around the Southfork. Chris and Mateo are at it over Ewing Oil. Lucy can't believe he's been so risky with their company. Chris refuses to be questioned. Mateo tells him that Pamela put him in charge of LoneStar and as long as he is, Ewing Oil is his business and he'll question him.

Up stairs John Ross says, "No! Both of them. I don't want you taking the risk for your boobs!"

"No." Pamela cries. "No. You think I could stand you looking at me like that?"

    "Like what?"

"I know you. I know how you are. I can't."

"Oh my God. Please. Please Pamela. Whatever you think it's wrong. I don't care. I love you. Not them." Tears well up in his eyes.

"You say that but you're a man. You think this won't effect you?"

John Ross sits on her bed and sobs.

"I understand you have needs," she tells him. Her hand in his shoulder.

He shoves her off, "I can't loose you Pamela. I can't. Please. Dear God. Please believe me. I don't care." His gave on her cheek. "You're all I care about. You. Please. Please Pamela."

She searches his eyes. "With them both gone. With my hair gone. With all that will happen to us."

"I can't do this. I can't. I can't watch you die because of this. Of who you think I am." He gets up and stomps out of the room.

Barbara looks in on Pamela. Pamela says, "I'm sorry. The whole house must have heard us."

"No the kids are out back. And Chris and Lucy are in the middle of their own fight. But forgive me for saying so but you're being very unfair to him. And to your children. You've got a lot to go through and this bullshit about worrying if that man will need another woman. I've never seen a man so in love with a woman as that man is with them. Just take care of it. There's reconstructive surgery. And let him be with you. I'm sorry. I just had to say something. You're killing him when what you should be doing is letting him hold you."

    Pamela looks at her stunned.

John Ross sits and holds her hand with an iv in the other.

A television news anchor says, "Ewing Oil's creditors have closed in on the company. Wendell Industries says that it intends to break up the company now that it owns the majority of Ewing Oil's debt. David and Andrew Wendell are the majority investors in Wendell Industries."

In her room Pamela stumbles into the bathroom and throws up. John Ross helps her to her feet.

Jack helps his father get her into bed.

Elena rolls in bed with David Wendell.

Lucy looks in on Chris sitting alone in his cottage. "Where's Emily?"

    "She left me."

    "Why?"

"We had a fight about her father."

Lucy sits next to Chris, her arm him. "It's only money Chris. We'll recoup what we need. It'll work out."

    "I lost Ewing Oil."

"Right now what matters is Pamela. We can figure that out later."

In the master bedroom of South Fork Pamela lays down with her husband and kids. Chris and Emily sit on the sofa. Lucy comes in with Mitch and a lot of pop corn. Mateo and Barbara bring the drinks. John Ross pushes play on the remote control and Gone with the Wind begins.

I've edited the last word for you. Love that they were watching that movie. It's one of my favorites. :)

The scene with John Ross and Pamela Rebecca was very raw and sad.
The whole thing reminds me a bit about how Miss Ellie felt like she wasn't enough woman after her mastechtomy in the show. :(

Thank you. I figured it would be one of Pamela's favorites. That was the idea - going back to the same issue and the same bedroom by the way. But now with a new generation. Pamela will have to still confront such feelings but these Ewings are united. She couldn't face it alone if she wanted. That room was full of family. And no one is letting her go this alone.

I noticed you didn't mention Ewing Oil is gone. That was my idea - that the rest would be too much to care about the business. They could care less. And even Chris seems to careless. This is finally a family. Beat the shit out of each other but come together family. Lucy must have always wanted such a thing. Seems like she has it now.

True I thought "Oh no" when I read that they'd lost Ewing Oil. But well I've always been more interested in the characters relationships and what they are going through than the business side of Dallas anyway so I'm not surprised it slipped my mind when I commented. ;)

John Ross walks into the offices of Wendell Industries and brushes off the secretaries. Security is called as he walks through. Mateo follows and says don't bother. The phones aren't working.

John Ross approaches David in the middle of a meeting. "I'm here to tell you to stop using the Ewing Oil name. I own it. The business you took over was given permission to use it. I'm taking back that permission." He tosses a thick file folder at him and says, "And these are the other assets, patents and such owned by Lone Star. I'm also pulling them. Look at the contracts. You'll see I'm well with in my rights. By the way, this means the debt you bought was way more than the value you acquired. You might want to go into panic mode with your creditors."

Elena floats face down in her pool.

A gaunt looking Pamela applies make up and then straightens her wig. John Ross kisses her cheek. "I just got a call from Mateo. Elena's dead. They found her floating in her pool."

    "What? What happened?"

"Mateo's working on it. He thinks it's someone from the a Mexican drug cartel."

    "Did you tell Jack?"

"I thought we would tell him together."

Jack sits in the living room a bit shocked at the news his parents tell him when Mateo enters the room. John Ross steps out into the Entry. I'm afraid there's more.

Out in the back porch of South Fork Mateo introduces John Ross to a mid twenties young man, "Sebastian Sanchez. Sebastian. This is John Ross Ewing. Your father."

In their bed room Pamela says, "I don't understand, you slept with her once when she was a kid. And she kept him from you all these years?"

"He was raised in Mexico by an aunt. I had no idea. Really I didn't. I was sixteen."

    "How didn't Mateo know?"

"He stayed away from the family as much as he could. I remember him staying that year Elena went back to Mexico. He just though the kid was his cousin."

"So why tell the kid the truth now?"

"Mateo said his aunt felt guilty when she heard Elena died. The family fought over it but she told him anyway. Sebastian called Mateo and he brought him here."

John Ross walks into his study. "Let's make this brief. I'm headed into Dallas with Pamela to meet with her doctor." Chris and Mateo sit in the room. "Liam will be staying in New York. Long Dia's in Hong Kong. Both are heading up investments for Lone Star. And Amanda Welser's in London. Mateo, I want you to stay running Lone Star. And Chris. I'm going to back you taking over Trident. You shed all the debt of Ewing Oil onto Wendell and we kept the valuable assets within Trident. Couldn't ask for more. Mateo. I want you to take those assets and make the arrangements with Trident. Chris. I want the name Ewing to replace Trident. Since oil doesn't market so well, I want it to be the Ewing Corporation. And the first thing I want is for you to take over Wendell Industries. Speak to Andrew. See what he owns and is willing to sell." Looking at Mateo, "And I want information on Rosnova and Sergei Vaino. How's he factor into Wendell Industries? And what happened to scare off Juan De La Vaga?" John Ross leaves the room as quickly as he walked in.

Lucy and Mitch enter the room as Pamela announces she got another clean bill of health. Everyone is thrilled. The kids jump up and down. Emily and Chris both hug her. The twelve of them walk across the hall and into the dinning room. Gathering around the table as happy as can be.

That evening out on the patio Mitch asks Lucy, "Have you ever thought about moving out of South Fork?"

    "No. Why?"

"I mean just to have your own place."

"I have my own place in New York."

    "I mean here."

"Beau offered me his apartment in the Rec House. I thought about it. Take Jeremy with me. Why?"

"It's just. We're here more than my place and I never feel comfortable staying the night. But if you had your own place."

"If you want to spend the night, you're more than welcome."

"This house doesn't set well with me."

"You're silly. But I suppose. If you wanted. I don't see why I could move out back. You looking to move in?"

"I don't think I could just invite myself like that. But if we were married I guess so."

"Are you asking me to marry you?"

"I think I am. Again anyway."

"Oh Mitch." Lucy slides into his arms. They kiss.

In his office David says to Juan, "Naming the company Ewing is going to make this all the sweeter."

Arliss than hands David a thick manuscript. He reads the title, "The Trickster of Texas: A Biography of John Ross Ewing the third." He smiles. "Excellent."

David then hands Sebastian a check, "And this is for you and your brother's share of the Ewing Corporation, that your mother left in your control."

Oh I love the Lucy & Mitch getting properly back together and talking marriage. :)

Glad that Pamela's rid of her cancer too.

Why did you have to kill Elena for though?
That just killed some potentially good storylines. Also who is the mother of this kid John Ross fathered at 16 and how old is John Ross supposed to be now in the story?
Sorry but I'm confused about that. :(

Yes the idea was to always be talking about being together. Love to have a third marriage with Mitch like her parents.

Not rid off her cancer yet but looks good. Of course Pamela was never gonna die.

I figured Elena would be better to move on and set up a lot more story lines with what follows. Sorry - Elena is Sebastian's mother. John Ross is late 30s. No worries. Sebastian brings a lot of issues and a lot of comfusion for the family - especially as he sells out to David Wendell. He's a Ramos raised in Mexico with a huge check in his hand to start new. I suppose it seems that a character as big as Elena (Dallas 2012) died in such a unworthy way, but is she dead? And what is Wendell up to now that he's back and working with America's enemies?

    Dallas staring:

    John Ross Ewing, III

    Pamela Rebecca Cooper Barnes Ewing

    Christopher Robert Ewing

    Emily Katherine Wendell Ewing

    and

    Lucille "Lucy" Eleanor Ewing Cooper

    with

    Mateo Sebastian Ramos y Costilla

    Sebastian Ewing y Ramos

    Olivia Wendell

    and

    David Wendell

John Ross sits at his desk in his study with Mateo and Chris sitting in front of him. He's silent. They're silent. Mateo's given him some unwelcome news. Eventually he responds. "So Sebastian sold us out. I guess I can't blame him. Not like your family ever gave me a chance to know him. Bring him here. I want to confront him fact to face. As for Arliss's book I want you to put out a statement to the effect that it is full of sensational lies made up to sell the book like she did with her father. Make it clear that she's flat broke and using her proximity to make money. Also announce that it is true that Sebastian is my son and that I did not know of his existence until recently and that I make no claims on him and appreciate the good life his adopted parents gave him."

    "Will do."

"And make sure Arliss is never allowed back onto South Fork." John Ross looks at Chris. "What's the status of Wendell Industries law suites against the Ewing?"

"I'm told these could take decades"

    "Good. I like that."

The three walk out the back of the house. Chris gets in his car. John Ross says to Mateo, "How's Elena?"

"Recuperating. If my men hadn't been keeping a close eye on her."

"Yea well she's out of her depth that's for sure. You sure Sergei Vaino's men?"

"Positive. He's also the one who paid for Elena's shares in Ewing."

"Alright. Well at least we know what we're dealing with."

"I've got him and his in our sites."

"Good. Let's let him build up enough hubris before we pull the trigger. Scare the shit out of Wendell right along with him. Oh and find me someone to write one hell of a tell-all on my sister-in-law. Something that comes out to question every word that comes out of her mouth."

Sebastian, Mateo and John Ross sit up at the bar in John Ross's hole in the wall. John Ross says to Sebastian, "No it was your mother's shares. You do as you want with them. I've got a gym, Liam, in New York. If you want turn Jack's money over to him and he'll manage it. If not, he'll be the one keeping an eye on it for me. Don't take him to personal, but he's pretty serious about managing money."

"Yeah I might just do that. Not like I'm an expert on money."

"He'd help you out too if you like. That's a lot of money just to stick in a bank, unless you own a bank. Mateo here says the money came from Sergei Vaino."

    "You mean he funded Wendell."

"Something like that. Mateo says he's probably the guy who had your mother killed. He went after some research she had been working on for oil extraction. Why she married that old man in the first place. More of a partnership."

"So you think he killed Elena so he could get me to sell and to steal her work. Did he steal it?"

    "You tell me."

    "How would I know?"

"Listen boy, bullshit someone else, not me. You think Vaino and Wendell are scary. You ain't got to worry about the guy that threatens you nearly as much as the one that don't. See they threaten because they don't want to go there. Believe Wendell don't. And right now as far as I can tell he's nothing more than Vaino's bitch. That what you wanta be? Someone's bitch?"

    "No of course not."

"Than you listen up. Wendell's gonna be really pissed. Because Vaino's gonna be pissed. That stuff you took from your mom's house for him before you sold it. It's shit."

    "What?"

"Mateo replaced it. He took the real work she did and it's with us. We started a company with it, E&R R&D."

    "What'll I do when they . . ."

"When they what? Confront you? Mateo, what you say your Uncle Juan said when they come after you?"

"Spit in their face. Take your lumps. And be patient to come back and give as good as you got, if not a little more."

    "You hear that?"

"What the hell. They might just kill me. How am I coming back after that?"

"That's where you need friends. Like Mateo here. No ones gonna touch me knowing he's got my back and the same goes for him. I got his back. You need friends kid. So far you ain't fostered many. I blame your mom for that. She could foster friends to save her life."

    "That's not funny."

"I suppose not. Chris is the same way. Like my daddy, always looking over his shoulder. Grandpa Clayton said to me once the two of them, my father and Uncle Bobby, would have made one hell of a businessman. My father knew how to get what he wanted and Uncle Bobby knew how to make friends. But they didn't know a lick about what the other knew and spent more time fighting than working together."

"Well how you suppose I'm gonna go out and get some friend?"

John Ross holds out his hand, "Well you can start with me."

Sebastian considers it and shakes his hand.

Mateo offers his hand, "I'm in if J-Ro's in."

    They shake hands.

Lucy sits by the pool as the sun sets when Pamela comes out of the house. She asks, "How you feeling?"

    "Tired. Weak. Sick and tired."

    "When's the last treatment?"

    "Next Monday."

"That's good. Well go shopping the following Monday to celebrate."

    "Sound like a plan."

"We'll leave early. New York is about a 3 hour flight and I like to nap while I'm flying."

    "New York?"

    "Of course."

"How are you and Mitch doing?"

"We're fine. He's in California preparing a paper or something."

    "And Beau's apartment."

"I'm almost happy with it. A few more changes."

"You know you didn't have to move out of the house."

"It's fine. I'm here there and everywhere anyway." Pamela smiles at her. Lucy says, "What?"

"I didn't think I'd like you when I first meet you. But things turned out pretty good. How about we invite Emily?"

    "Sounds good to me."

In the honky tonk Sebastian dances with his hands all over this girl to the object of her brother. John Ross and Mateo try and break it up and pull a slightly drunk Sebastian away. A fight breaks out and the first to take a punch is Mateo. Soon the whole place is fighting it out.

In the kitchen at South Fork Lucy tends to Sebastian, Pamela to John Ross and Emily to Mateo. The guys laugh it off when Chris comes in the room. "What the heck happened?"

"Just a little fight," John Ross says.

"A little fight!" Sebastian excitedly says, "You should see these two. Uncle Mateo took on three guys at once. Like some kinda Bruce Lee and John Ross wasn't far behind him."

"Damn wish I'd been there," Chris laughs.

    "Christopher Ewing!" Lucy snaps.

"What? I do. Does a man some good to get in a fight once and a while."

Next in the door a beautiful girl in her early twenties appears. Emily goes, "This is my niece Olivia. She's staying with us for a while. Olivia this is Mateo Ramos, he's sorta family. And his nephew Sebastian. And Lucy Ewing. And John Ross and Pamela. Olivia majored in art history. You and Lucy should have a lot to talk about."

Lucy says, "Welcome to South Fork. Never mind these Neanderthals. We are civilized. They just get board easily. You up for some ice cream? Since I'm up I might as well enjoy myself."

Up says John Ross strips down to get into bed saying, "It turn you on seeing me flinch when use used that rubbing alcohol."

    "No it didn't."

"Yes it did." John Ross tosses off his boxers and slides into bed taking her in his arms. She mocks protest but soon is caught up in his kiss.

Sebastian sits out by the pool making out with Olivia.

Emily walks into the horse barn in the middle of the night and is startled to find Mateo. After a bit of laughter they saddle two horses and ride out into the moon light.

In his office David shouts at Sergei Vaino, "What's left of Ewing Oil is bankrupting my company. And you know how many contacts I lost to E&R? You said you'd back me!"

"I'm not to blame because you didn't do your home work. But I'm holding you responsible because what that kid brought us turned out to be worthless."

    "Elena's research. How's it worthless?"

"It's not her research, not a geologist of her caliber. You've been had."

"That kid's not that smart. Someone got to him or got to the research."

"She did know what we were after. I'd been financing her since she was in prison. Maybe she told her brother in case something happened to her and he got to her research first."

"I suppose that could have happened but you can't go after him."

    "We'll see about that."

"You're asking for a full fledge war with Ewings."

    "I don't back down."

"I'm telling you right now, John Ross is feeding you enough rope to hang yourself."

"We're not in the same category. I'll show that little pass ant there's things worse than death."

John Ross sits in his study and watches a video of kids playing soccer in a back yard. He says, "This is live? How the hell you get this?"

    "Friends."

"This is Ostankino? It's huge. I assume the security is tight."

    "Very. Impenetrable."

A beautiful young woman leaves her ornate bathroom in the Ostankino Estate and notices a note on her pillow. She reads it and panics.

Sergio yells into phone, sitting in his private plan, obscenities in Russian. He says, "Вы не найдете, как письмо Юинг попало на кровать моей жены, и я подумаю, что это были вы." ("You don't find how a letter from Ewing got on my wife's bed and I'll assume it was you.")

    I enjoyed Lucy & Pamela's talk. :)
Also I am confused about Elena. Did she really die or was it all a scam?

What's making me question it is this part:

The three walk out the back of the house. Chris gets in his car. John Ross says to Mateo, "How's Elena?"

"Recuperating. If my men hadn't been keeping a close eye on her."

I'm intrigued to say the least! ;)

Ah yes meant to be keeping you wondering. But since this isn't TV I'll tell you - yes she's alive. John Ross had a close eye kept on her (he does with everyone). So when time came they got her out of the pool. These are people (Russian) that should make you think Cold War all over again. The Ewings are in for the fight of their life and this time their old Wendell adversary may be the least of their troubles.

John Ross sits on the edge of the bed, "I don't know how Mateo does it. I couldn't hurt his family, though I know he'd hurt mine."

    "You're a better person."

"But if it stops him? Because if I don't stop him he could potentially give control of global oil prices to the Russians, especially with their influence in Venezuela. I can't ignore that. How many people around the world wound suffer because of it."

    "What about Sebastian?"

"He'll be fine. He'll stand up to him. I'm not worried."

"Yes you are." She holds her husband.

In the morning the family gathers for breakfast by the pool. A security guard approaches and says to Pamala, "Sorry to interrupt. Your sisters at the gate."

John Ross yells, "What the hell! How she have the nerve to show her face around here?"

"Not that sister Mr. Ewing. April Barnes."

    "Who?"

"My father's daughter with Michelle Stevens."

"You have another sister and never told me about her?"

"My dad didn't even know about her until I was away at school. And she was April Stevens, not Barnes. She pretty much hated him I guess, but he put her through school and set her up. She must be about thirty now I guess."

A limousine rolls up behind the house.

"I don't know why, but she hates the Ewings too, I'm told."

John Ross huffs, "Oh of course. Why not. Join the crowd."

Lucy chuckles, "This should be pleasant."

Chris and Emily give each other knowing looks.

In his study John Ross meets with Chris and Mateo. "So what do you know about Cliff Barnes's daughter, April?"

Mateo says, "Her mother left Dallas with a bunch of your father's money and never told Cliff. JR of course wouldn't let it go and after a couple of schemes she was dead broke. That's when she told Cliff about his daughter. He never had much to do with her but he did pay for school. He also set her up with a company, Barnes and Associates. It's an investment company she's ran since an undergrad. She's worth maybe a billion dollars. Very diverse. She knows a thing or two."

"I'm waiting for the lead balloon."

"She's on my list of people meeting with Wendell and Sergei Vaino."

"There you have it," Chris says, "And your people let her on the ranch."

Mateo says, "They took the necessary precautions."

Out by the pool Pamela, Lucy and Emily meet with April. "Well since I was in town on business I thought I would visit my long lost sister."

    "I'm long lost," Pamela laughs.

"I heard from the Dallas grapevine, you're retired."

"Just spending more time at home with my family."

"No one but Chris works around here," Lucy chuckles.

    "Must be nice."

"Certainly isn't bad. Emily and I does what we can with the foundation. We're trying to get Pamela to join us."

    "And John Ross?"

"My husband conducts his weekly meetings but that's about it. Births a calf now and again, but he's more concerned about family too. Our son and I have had some health scares. He's worked on a few projects with the foundation. You aren't married?"

"No. But I find myself too busy to settle down. Been offered a few business proposals. Speaking of such, I know your father Emily. I've joined him in investing in a refinery down in Houston. I like to maintain an extremely diverse portfolio."

    "I suppose so."

The girls walk to April's car and Lucy says, "You should bring David with you to the house Friday for cocktails. Before we all head out to the Cattleman's Ball we'll have a group over."

April tries to look puzzled. "David?"

"David Wendell. You are going with Emily's father. There is something you should know about is Ewings. My uncle, JR, taught us all how to be nosey. Not much happens in our town with out us knowing."

Emily shrugs. "Don't look at me. I didn't know you were going with him."

    "Me neither," Pamela adds.

Cars pull up to South Fork and guest fill the house.

John Ross watches from the bottom of the stairs as Pamela walks down in a beautiful dress leaving him stunned and speechless. She smirks as she steps past him. Her dress covers her breasts entirely, though the curvature appears as if nothing has happened. She wears her grandmother's emeralds. "Do they look really?" She says with a weakness to her voice.

    "You look amazing."

"Why do I even ask. Are you ever going to just tell me the truth?"

He takes her in his arms, his hand in her rear and pulls her into him. "Let's go up stairs."

She laughs pulling away, "I just got dressed."

"I want to show you the truth Mrs. Ewing."

    "John Ross ."

He takes her hand and leads her back up stairs.

Lucy introduces Mitch to David Wendell and April Barnes as Emily and Chris approach. April says to Chris, "I've heard a lot about you. You run the EO Corporation. An environmentalist and an engineering in charge of an oil giant. But they say you get the job done. You also hear you drive a Tesla."

"I do. Wonderful car. Ewing has also heavily invested in electric companies and solar power. Energy is energy. And the cleaner we make it, the better. You own a chain of car dealers on the west coast, I hear."

"Oh now you are digging deep to find out about me. Everyone knows about you, but me, I'm hardly a footnote."

"I don't know about that. We are cousins."

"I suppose we are. And David here sits on your board of directors."

"Yes he does. Quiet most of the time. We haven't always got along so well."

"No, I hear not. Well he is family. Right Emily?"

    "Oh yes. Yes he is."

David says, "Speaking of family, where is my grandson?"

Chris answers, "He's with the other kids in the playroom."

"I see. Well, I should see him, since I am here."

Lucy takes his arm and pulls him away, "Oh another time. Now let me introduce you to Francois Mainard, the painter. He's an old friend of mine.

Out of earshot Chris says to Emily, "I detest that termite."

"Yes I know," Emily says and walks away.

Out by the barn Mateo approaches Emily, "What brings out out here?"

"Peace a quite. A bit overwhelming in there."

    "I suppose it is."

Checking him out in his Tux, she says, "Why are you out here?"

    "Same reason I suppose."

Emily pets and then cuddles her horse.

Chris walks with April out onto the front porch. "A beautiful evening," he says.

    "It is. A beautiful ranch."

"Yes I suppose it is. And you."

"What about me? You have a beautiful body". His hand runs along her side.

"Thank you. You're not cut too bad yourself."

"Well darlin' if you stick around, and are lucky enough, you just might find out." He swats her butt and walks back in the house.

What's that he asks, hearing a couple of old family friends talking. The one answers, "Oh hey Chris. I was just saying I heard Sergei Vaino bought the old Lee Ranch from Jordan Lee's 101 year old widow. They finally put her in a home I hear."

"You don't say. They should have offered it up to family first. Including Bo's boy."

    "That's true. That's very true."

John Ross and Pamela walk down the stairs and Chris approaches. "You hear Sergei Vaino bought the old Lee Ranch."

"No I hadn't. Something happen to Mrs. Lee?"

"They put her in a home."

"That was sudden. I'll talk to Mateo. See what we can find out."

"Mateo should have already given us a heads up. I'd say he's laying down on the job."

"There was no reason to keep an eye on Mrs. Lee. And he is watching Vaino. I'll look into. We'll discuss it."

"I wonder if he'll be at the Cattleman's ball now that he's in the ranching business."

    "God help us."

The Ewings arrive in one limousine. Reports try to speak to them as they walk from the car to the hotel door. John Ross and Pamela smile and nod but walk through.

Chris stops with Emily to answer some questions about the oil industry and confirm EO is preparing to drill off the coast of California. He takes a question on his cousin Senator Bo Ewing voting to approve expansion of off shore oil. "Of course he did. It's what's best for the country. The EO Corporation got no benefit from it. But you know that the environment is in safe hands with us. Look how we handled South Fork oil. We didn't go there until the technology was in place to do it right. We're not the Wendell's. Oh sorry sweetheart."

"No it's fine," Emily says. "My family has a horrible environmental record. My father and my grandfather. And their political involvement was always self serving. I'm proud the Ewing name doesn't carry such baggage."

"Mrs. Ewing you've been a pioneer regarding mental health in this country. We heard the Ewing Foundation sponsoring an awareness campaign. Care to speak to that?"

    "Yes. Thank you . . ."

Lucy stops with Mitch and confirms she's working on a substantial art donation.

Inside John Ross says to Pamela, "This is why I prefer the Oil Barron's Ball. None of this silly media attention."

Out of the next limousine steps David Wendell with April. "Howdy. Yes sure I'll take a few questions. This is April Barnes, Cliff Barnes's youngest daughter. She's agreed to accompany me to night. My wife's in Europe and in way of being an old family friend. Cliff and I go way back. Back to those halcyon days when my father and hers were involved with the old West Star Company. Long before your days I suppose."

The outdoor pool area of a Texas report clamors with scantly clad young guests of Sebastian's. His party is massive and wild with liquor flowing and the music pounding as it a night club. His hands all over beautiful bodies in bikinis he laughs saying he bought the hotel.

Yikes so Michelle and Cliff had a child?
I can't say I ever liked that pairing, I was totally for James & Michelle.

Also why does Chris has a thing for his cousins? :lolo:
I know they are not blood and they didn't grow up together but the way he was flirting with April was sort of icky.

I'm glad John Ross is so supportive of Pamela and the way she looks after her reconstructive surgery.
