How awful that it's come to this. She was the best character on Desperate and the show never recovered from the loss of Edie. Over 40 and with a reputation for 'trouble' she may never work again.

If I had to guess Cherry, a gay Republican, is a nasty, cruel control freak who is used to belittling and abusing his employees. I bet Nic is accurate in her lawsuit and was canned for calling him out.

May she feast on feces for eternity.

This trial is really exciting! I've been following it daily and it's riveting. The weirdest thing though, is that it was ruled Nicollette's team can't mention any past allegations against Marc Cherry (there have been numerous), yet he's allowed to mention them for Nicollette. Fortunately for her, the best thing he can come up with is her saying Teri Hatcher is "the meanest person on earth," a total four years before he fired her lol.

At first things seemed to be going in his favor, but yesterday his Assistant and current VP of his company testified and pretty much discredited Cherry's entire testimony. Now things are back in Nicollette's favor. I'm not too sure I buy the claims that Nicollette was unprofessional, because otherwise that would be the main reason she was fired, but there is nothing to that effect. Also, she didn't have any issues on Knots or any of her other shows. If her complaining about the scripts (which we know were crap) is causing a problem, then he needs to grow thicker skin.

Well, if he weren't so fat -- I mean sloppy fat -- and a Republican, he might be an easier object of sympathy.

Is there a karmic chance they might both burn in hell together??

While I wouldn't be totally surprised to learn she has a screw or two loose, I really can't stand Marc Cherry at all, so I wish Nicollette all the luck in the world on this.

Give me a closeted gay Republican over an openly gay Republican any day.

    Their issues are just different.

I wasn't aware his personal life was also on trial.

Actually, I guess it isn't since judgment has already been passed.

I, for one, am neither pro- nor anti-Cherry. I'm anti-Sheridan.
  9. Amen, Daniel.

Liberals often astound me -- they demand tolerance for their viewpoints, but refuse to tolerate others'. I'm no Cherry fan either, but I can understand why some gay men would choose to identify as Republicans. They're not all self-haters as some would have you believe; instead they simply believe in self-reliance and, often, place a greater importance on obtaining fiscal solvency than marriage equality.

I think they both are probably guilty of behaving badly..."truth somewhere in the middle" and all that.

Problem is, "self-reliance and fiscal solvency" has nothing to do with conservative values.

What the hell does this have to do with politics? Can politics please be kept out of this? Nobody was there; nobody knows what happened. Therefore, nobody can judge.

Somebody introduced politics. It's too late.
  14. I believe it was the original poster.

That doesn't mean the subject can't be steered toward the court case and the politics angle dropped. Y'all know we have another forum for such things.

But when the OP introduces it, and it involves people associated with the show, is it still off limits?

We've discussed the politics of the DALLAS actors endlessly.

AFAIK, Marc Cherry never had anything to do with Knots.

You may have noticed over the years that the Knots board doesn't tend toward stormy arguments and name-calling over politics, religion, etc. Everyone just sort of gets along, and I for one like that. Mods on other boards can do as they please WRT arguing politics, religion, etc. but every forum has different "moods".

Like I said, if you want that sort of discussion, there is another place set up for it. They love that sort of warfare over there.

Urrghhhhhhhh! Cherry is such a bitch. His writers notes thing is so dumb. Edie isn't even named. All it says is Housewife body dumped on the lane... By husband.

How does that relate to Edie? Its not even how she died. Im sure there are other notes that say things like "Housewife loses baby" or "Housewife euthanises mother" or "wisteria lane moves forward 5 years in the future"......... It means nothing. Its just an idea.

So we should avoid DALLAS-board style dialogue? The original post evoked politics.
