What's at the other side?
They are building a slow burn.
I read the finale is going to blow our minds and we're not getting a cliff-hanger, which I like.
I've still to see this week's episode. we don't get it until Monday night.
standing there in the dark at the end?
It's a strange season (well the last couple of episodes) because I don't have much to comment on. I'm enjoying the pace and feeling excited by what's to come and I don't have any quarms with how it's going.
Eugene has surprised me, first I couldn't work out if he was playing Neega, then we see him taking control of situation, only to see the return of the much wimpier character when Sasha gives him the opportunity to escape.
I'd really like to see Gregory die.
Yes, definitely. He asked where Sasha & Rosita had gone and like the hero he is, he's there to back her up.
Guess he just likes that videogame more than anything else.
Walking Dead usually has good moments even in bad episodes that are worth watching. This wasn't bad at all, but I'm a bit indifferent to it. There were some really good moments toward the end, and the Hilltop is always pretty interesting with Gregory and what-not. I just didn't think it was particularly compelling and I want this to come to some sort of conclusion sooner than later, although I liked it. I just didn't love it. Jesus is gay in the comics, so that wasn't really a surprise. I think he might have even been invented as a bit of FY to the anti-gay crowd. But he works as a character so it turned out well.
Could this be down to the focus on Sasha & Rosita? Two characters that work well as a supporting role, but not enough to dedicate a full episode on.
While I haven't read any spoilers, or I don't think they've released any major spoilers, I get the impression from the teasers that we could be heading the the direction you hope for.
I don't know if that's fully it, maybe a part of it, because I really enjoyed Eugene's solo episode, and I enjoyed Maggie and Sasha's episode in the woods a while back, and I enjoyed Tara's solo episode, I think it has more to the do with the story, the whole idea of these two going after Negan alone on a suicide mission, I would think she's smarter than that (and she wasn't with Abraham for long)- something is a bit forced with it, it seems off to me. Maybe Rosita, but we don't know her well, I don't like the idea of Sasha doing it, I know she has seemed unbalanced of late- but it still seems like she's more strategic than this. And she's putting everyone else in danger, not really caring about them and the repercussions they would face if she fails- doesn't particularly seem like Sasha.
I get where you're coming from, but I'm torn by the idea.
On the one hand I agree with you that it's suicidal and is more likely to put the others at risk, then on the other hand, I think it would be a better idea for one or two to try and take out Negan in the form of a sniper. Catch him unaware and put an end to his reign because I think the risk is greater if they all go charging in like a battle from GAME OF THRONES.
Though I much prefer the idea of one big battle to end it all
I don't think Negan's about to die or go anywhere else in the next couple of seasons.
The showrunners said that there will be no such big cliffhanger happening like last year and that it will be just a new setup for the next 100 episodes.
Episode 8x01 will be episode #100 ansd they already layouted the show till season 13.
I hope he isn't killed off because he's the best new character to come into the show in a long, long time.
But..... I can't see how he can last without repeating what we've seen this season. It will be more of the same with all the Saviours terrorising the rest of the survivors like they always do.
They did imply it was still going to be epic, only that a particular story will (or may) come to an end.
Of course they say it'll be epic, they want you to tune in!
Maybe Carol will just say FU to Daryl for good, because he lied to her about Glenn and Abe.
And as for Negan ... maybe Rick is somehow able to change the deal between him and Negan for some reason that we don't know yet. So that maybe Ricks group then will be as well on the "other side" and the new bad ones. There we have the new setup with a loooot of trouble potential!
They don't need to convince, I would tune in if it was all about pig shit...
I'm glad you're not on the writing team this season..
So what else would you come up with, if there is to be an era ending now and a whole new setup will be there for the next couple of seasons? Because that's what's going to happen, as they said. No big cliffhanger but a whole new situation of things.
And must be something we haven't seen already, of course.
I have no idea.....
They could capture Negan and imprison him somewhere. Make the Saviours think he's dead.
They could - nope it's gone blank
Maybe Negan has a mother who is still alive and she's the only one who can control him
Come to mama my little Negan
Hehe, Negan Ryland. Don't fool with mummy!
If they capture Negan, i bet they put him in that cell that Morgan built, and Morgan is the only one having contact to him.
Oh, and maybe father Gabriel as well. Who of those two will be the weak link?
Good question, I think I would like to see Gabriel lose it on Negan.
Maybe the new chapter is Eugene in charge of the Saviours..
