Did Patrick Duffy bring him to Dallas? They were together in Step by Step. They were Uncle and Nephew on that show too.

    No.

I believe it was Barbara Miller, who did casting on "Dallas", and "Step By Step" that brought Sasha into the mix on both shows. It was coincidental that Pat was in both shows.

Maybe Patrick suggeted it to her. Ever think of that since he directed alot of the episodes of both shows. [IMG]

True, but it wasn't exactly like Sasha needed the work, either. "Dallas" was over, and even with that, Sasha was developing a good-name as Jean Claude Van Damme's replacement in the "Kickboxer" action film franchise.

I never saw Sasha in anything other than Step by Step. I heard he went to jail for domestic violence and drugs. [IMG]

He went to jail, because his wife set him up and framed him. She's now in jail, while he's out, being he proved his innocence.

Sasha was developing a name for himself as a good B-level actor, regardless of "Step By Step", when he was the star of the direct-to-video action hits, 1991's "Kickboxer 2: The Road Back", and 1992's "Kickboxer III: The Art of War".

How do you know that stuff about him? [IMG]

I saw an interview with his ex-wife once on "Oprah", and I saw an interview with Sasha himself afterwards, on "Entertainment Tonight".

I think Duffy did bring him over to "Step by Step" since it was after Dallas- I do remember duffy saying they were friends- obviously formerly on Dallas, he would not be cast in "Step by Step" without input from Duffy- I mean, he and Suzanne were the stars- I thought it was a risky move, considering it was the same night as "Dallas" and those two on one show didn't exactly bring in viewers on Dallas-

Actually, I think he was cited twice for beating her up, wasn't he? It wasn't just one time.

Plus Sasha did not join the Step by Step cast until I think the 2nd season of that show

I'm not very aware of whats exactly as I dont remember Step By Step very good. I have watched it more than 10 years ago when it was first aired. I think Sasha was there from the first season and quit when he was arrested in 1995 or 1996 I think. Than he joined the cast again 1998 for the final season. Thats what I think but I am not exactly sure if i am 100% right...

I don't recall Sasha ever returning to "Step By Step", ever again, after his arrest & departure during the middle of the show.

Plus, let's keep in mind, it didn't matter what Sasha's personal life was happening, the network brass didn't feel having a convict & wife beater, as the number one cool character on TV, besides Urkel, was a good idea. That's also why they canned him.

Okay, I just checked an Episode Guide of "Step By Step", and yes Sasha did return for one more episode after his main departure.

Sasha returned as Cody for one more episode, the next-to-last episode of the entire series, titled "We're In The Money", which aired in June of 1998.

It's been so long since I've seen Step By Step. I watched it during it's original run and I was younger. All I remember is Suzanne Somers, Patrick and a lot of kids.

I remember watching it religiously when it was originally on, because I watched those T.G.I.F. Friday night blocks on ABC, with "Family Matters" & "Boy Meets World".

But now, I catch a few episodes of "Step By Step" every so often on ABC-Family, and the show really wasn't that good. It has it's moments of absolute hilarity, but overall it's forgettable.

I actually like Sasha a lot more on Step By Step. Cody was a better role for him than James.

It was a nice Dufus role [IMG]

    Exactly. [IMG]

I'm surprised Patrick never tried to get any of his other Dallas co-stars to make a guess appearance on the show. Would have been a hoot to see Larry appear as a ruthless businessman wanting to tear down the Lambert neighborhood to put in a new business franchise. [IMG]

oh yeah! I wonder what Suzanne Somers would have done [IMG]

Maybe she could have sicked her old Three's Company co-star, Don Knotts as Barney Fife on old Larry. Of course Don wouldn't be any match at all... [IMG]
