This week's episode was one of those format-breaking efforts that are welcome as long as they are not overdone. I understood the point of humanising the patient but failed to understand the benefit of imagining a black woman when there was clearly a white man on the table. The reveal that Weber was describing his own mother was unexpected and moving. It also struck me that Hunt and Shepard are as damaged as each other; it remains to be seen whether they can help each other or it will doom their marriage.

The mid-season finale was okay, better than the average episode this season, I hope there's a big change in the second half.

I found the first half of this season to be so disconnected with no flow to the show at all almost like Shonda didn't know which direction to take it in? I am not enjoying this season. When I first watched season 9 it took me a second viewing to like it and appreciate it. This season I am not even sure I could make it thru a rewatch?

The winter finale was just ok for me too. I do think that after hearing boring Jo's story that DeLuca just might drop the charges against Alex.

I also think that Meredith's phone call to Alex changed his mind about pleading guilty.

I also think that they could come up with a better reason to hide Amelia's real life pregnancy rather than have her leave Owen 2 seconds after they got married.

That's all I got out of it.

I really wasn't sure if I was going to continue with this, the first part of this season just didn't hold me enough. Then I thought I would give it a go and I was surprisingly impressed, I love the story that took them out of the hospital and I was really enjoying Bailey's cowardly lion act as they first entered the building, though I did wonder where The Nazi Dr. style character she was known for had disappeared.

I think what I like the most about this one is that it was down to just three main characters. Far too many characters seemed to be appearing in every episodes which means some of them have 'filler' type roles to play, but with just three this week, they all got to shine in their own space.

this season has been fine for me, i don't hate it but it just still seems too early for me to say how good or bad it is.

I'm still not enjoying this season as much as the others, though there are some great moments like the latest episode with the dilemma over the kidney from the abusive husband and the lost girl turning up with schizophrenia. I noticed that I missed some of the original characters over the past few episodes too.

Maggie's story has been bloody boring to get through! This season needs a big disaster to happen

i don't mind it it's okay, not one of their best but why did the writers have to kill her mom? and i thought that was really cold and mean when she said to Richard all i want is my father. well he was right there. i know he didn't raise her but she could have at least said something else or said that to someone else. i don't hate this season but i don't see the point in having that woman stir things up i'm too tired at the moment to think straight. but that program is really damn stupid. yes the interns have to learn there is no questioning that but to have them take things over when they clearly aren't ready for it is just plain stupid.

honestly the love Triangle between Maggie and i forget his name at the moment and Grey is pointless. that really went nowhere, they i think handled that pretty awful and honestly i don't think Maggie would even care at the moment if she did date him because she hasn't said for quite awhile that she's into him. this season has been a hit and miss it's had some things i like and some i haven't liked. the biggest thing is that stupid ass program that it wasn't needed, kinda like the merger in season 6 that was pointless to where the show ended up being overcrowded with too many characters so they ended up having to kill off certain ones to have it go back to normal. yes the merger was kept but they stopped having so many people coming into the show at once. but what are ya gonna do they did a lot of experimenting this season with various things and some i think worked VERY well and some failed i think too

As well as not really getting Maggie's story, this is another story that's bored me this season. I'd like to see more focus on the original characters over the ones who have joined in the past 5 seasons.

see i do see what you want but i think the best way is to do a little bit of both. cause yes i want more focus on the original cast, HOWEVER the cast that came later or even in the past 5 years also shouldn't be ignored either cause i like them all to have a good storyline. like they brought back what's her face that broke up Callie's marriage with Arizona and my question is uh WHY? they havne't done a damn thing with her at all cept when she came back at the start of the season they did acknowledge her. no i don't want an entire episode dedicated to her but why bring her back? i don't mind the Maggie Character and her storyline has been okay and i'd rather have them do it for one episode where her mom passes away than have this huge storyline where it goes across the entire season. makes me wonder if they will do a repeat of what George did when his dad died which is marry someone he's dating when he only did that to fill in a whole in his life. that was done well i admit that but

they also went overboard on that as well i think. with him cheating on Callie that part i didn't like. though i'd rather see Maggie have this storyline that that love triangle between Grey and what's his name i still can't remember his name. Riggs? only cause love triangles have been done to death on here and other shows as well.

as for Amelia & Owen that one has gone on far far too long and i'm simply tired of it. that woman should have said to Owen before they married look i had and here's how he died and maybe be not as blunt i just did to be honest. but to Tell Owen here's WHY well one of the reasons i am such a mess, plus tell him about her seeing her dad get killed as a kid also is part of it too. that caused her to drink as well later in life, he would have understood but they only wrote it this way, cause the actress was preggeres and to give her time off and so forth they had her run away like an idiot. they easily could have her take time off from the show and oh i dunno say she was doing something for the hospital or visiting
Addison. it's better than having her run away from her husband and act like a child.

that storyline has gone of far far far too long and from what i read i forget her name who plays her but she's said recently she don't get her either. she has no clue on what direction the writers are taking her. which is i think is an honest answer. plus Owen also has his own issues as well so it's not just Amelia. the thing with Bailey also is getting old to causes she should say to webber this is why i did it, not i did it for the better of the hospital, they should also have her say to him look i did it this way and i'm sorry i didn't come to you to tell your or to have him help her in some form to do it in a far far better way than the way they did it. when clearly she doesn't know what she's doing. they are making a much loved character into something she isn't and i don't like that. at least with Webber they yes had him drinking at some point in the show's history and for a good reason but it didn't ruin his character he's still the same man i think only wiser to how he was when the show started. Bailiy was a character i hated when the show started, but slowly they made her into a human being and i dunno what season that was in. but she became one of the best characters on the show, it really feels like they don't know what the hell they want to do with her this season. & Catherine was a character i did once kinda like, now i wish they'd get rid of her i love Debbie Allen but her Character is such a bitch that i'm simply tired of her and her treating people like shit.

even her own son at times too as he can see right through her. i don't think the show has turned into a terrible show if i think it's just got a poorly written season thus far and it has some good things in it but too many bad ones thus far too. and it's not one of the best seasons either

The latest episode was much, much better. More focus on some of the core cast and it was good to see the Alex we've come to know and love make a return.

And the one that followed was bloody brilliant - my favourite of the season so far. I liked how they kept it contained to just a few of the main characters with an addition of some enjoyable guest characters.

Grey's has been back here for a couple of weeks now but we're still behind. Hopefully we'll eventually catch up because they're showing them as "double episodes".

I don't know what the deal is with that. They do it with a lot of shows. For some reason they make us wait for the new season and then burn them off two-at-time.
