    Hello,

Last night in the fabulous chat with Steve, he was asked a question about his art work. He has kindly sent us a copy of one of his paintings for us fans to view.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a painting of Matilja Creek in the Los Padres National Forest just a few miles from our ranch in
Ojai, California. It is 18 inches by 24 inches, painted in transparent watercolor. I paint out doors and prefer natural settings in the mountains and the seashore. Watercolors are my first choice because they travel conveniently and can go anywhere. Many times I will sketch in the field and then complete the larger more complex paintings in the studio. I can send more if you like. - Steve

Love his use of color. So many artists seem to go for the deeper, dark colors, even with outdoor scapes. This one is bright and vibrant. Good for the soul!

It truly is a lovely painting. How blessed Steve is to have this landscape so close to home. It's exactly a place where you would expect him to live! I would love to see more of his work.

That's very anomalous. It's textured like a stained glass window or a broken glass mosaic....very cool. I wonder if that's the technique he uses all of the time? :)

It's sometimes delicate to express in english what I feel...

The painting reminds me the Indian legends where the Nature is at the same time familiar and fantastic... :wiggle:

Wow! I love it! I've been to Ojai - it is an incredibly beautiful place, very inspiring for an artist. Steve really captured that beauty in his painting!

I would love to see more! A section on Ultimate Dallas would be nice.
