At first I was so excited, I wanted to print-screen everything. Constance's hair isn't white? Martin Peyton is wearing a red jacket? OMG.

No-one new has been introduced yet, in fact, the Lee vs. Anne story is still going on.
I hope it's not going to take a whole season to wrap it up!
It's amazing how the townspeople react to Anne's death. It has to be murder. Lee Webber has to be the murderer.
Still no news about Anne's injuries (I think she had a wound on her face, not sure if it was caused by falling down). No hard evidence whatsoever that she was killed by someone.
Makes me wonder if anyone is interested in the truth, even Steven Cord has his an agenda.
And if it were up to Elliott Carson there would be no trial at all. Lee must be guilty, burn the sinner!

10 or 12 episodes ago everyone was afraid of Lee Webber, but now he's in jail everyone has something to say about him.
Like his sweet little brother Chris, whose behaviour is getting more and more unpleasant, which only emphasizes Lee's position as the town's underdog.

Why didn't they end season 2 with Mia Farrow's last appearance on the show?

Here she goes, strolling into the night.
She wasn't the type for cheerful goodbyes at the railway station, no, it should end like one of her poems - pondering, questions without answers, as if she literally walked off the page of a storybook.
    I thought it was beautiful.

There was something hauntingly eerie about Alison's departure from Peyton Place, yet beautifully understated.

There also didn't seem to be much urgency surrounding her departure either.

The initial equally eerie and more gothic departure of Fallon Carrington, two decades later, in Dynasty, almost equalled it but the aftermath ruined what was a good set up.

Having the knowledge that Mia Farrow won't return, I'm glad they're not focussing on The Search for Allison.

No matter how good Peyton Place is, it's still a soap, and not completely without it's flaws.
Constance and Elliot are worried about Allison's disappearance (well, obviously) but one would think they'd be more worried about the circumstances of that very disappearance i.e. the mental state she was in when she left the hospital, and the fact that she left without money.
I know that America is considered the land of the golden opportunities, but this is not exactly a good start for Allison to make it anywhere.
But Matthew's birth is perfectly timed, and it gives the Carsons the "excuse" to move on with their lives, and like I said before, Allison's departure doesn't really require an explanation or follow-up because it was done so beautifully.
Didn't like the Dynasty S4 cliffhanger very much, but I like how it was explained on the Colbys. But personally I prefer Fallon's disappearance when she took the taxi-from -outer space!

Lee Webber's trial has started. Correction, it's a pre-trial hearing, but to a simple Dutch person like me it all looks the same: pompous lawyers shouting at the witnesses, lots of "objection, your Honor!"-s etc etc.

I just can't begin to describe how much I love this show, it's so lush and well-crafted: the acting, writing, scenery, the cast - and a fantastic supporting cast.

At this point, partially thanks to Michael Rossi's testimony, it's becoming more and more obvious that Lee might not be the killer at all. In fact, it hasn't even been established that Anne died because of another person's wrongdoing.
And yet some of the most heroic characters of this story (Elliot and Rodney, whom both have been in the same situation) continue to behave irriationally, and they strongly disapprove of Michael's honest statement simply because that wasn't "the plan".
I find it so fascinating that a soap dares to show the good guys in a bad light.

Of course I'm very curious what happened that day on the bluff when Anne died.
    My suspicion:
-Neither Lee nor Hannah did it. The most obvious suspect being the killer only works when he/she has been acquitted of the murder charge, because they proved he/she couldn't have done it (and then it turns out he/she had done it anyway!)
-It wasn't suicide because they didn't show Anne jumping off the cliff. Even if no-one's going to be convicted, it will be impossible for the writers to prove that she jumped, although they had shown her behaving strangely when she was standing on the very edge of the cliff. It looked as if she was going to slip, but again, I didn't see it happen.
-Someone did push her. No alibi for Lee also means...no alibi for Sandy.

I loved the black & white, but Peyton Place also looks gorgeous in colour.

I'm going to start watching Peyton Place from the 1957 film to the final episode in 1969, I've watch a few episodes from season 1, but somehow I think I need to watch the film first, then carry on with it.

I recall sensing something rather angelic about Mia Farrow's Allison MacKenzie.

It amazes me to think that there was only a seven year gap between the first film and the first episode of PP.

I'm going to save those first movies for last. I believe they're based on the novels, and therefore different from the tv series.
Yes, and I also like her angelic name: María de Lourdes Villiers Farrow.
Besides, we already know that she ended up in New York City and gave birth to the Antichrist.
