he tweets that he's working on the soundtrack
Don't know the composer, but I'm curious what the sound for the new show will be... especially the new theme.
What's also interesting is the fact, that on this printout he posted, they used the DVD logo from the original series release. Got me thinking about what the new logo will look like.
Most likely it's gonna be all suspicious background music as well as a lot of pop music of today that's gonna drown out the dialogue that we will need to get used to! All this hip hop crap!
I doubt it's gonna have those 7 notes or so that transition between scenes as locations are shown--more like mysterious instrumental music or hip hop crap from today!
I tweeted to him about the theme and if there will be one that's at least 40 seconds long in the intro and how CW messed up both Melrose Place and 90210 and he said if it's anything less than a minute and a half he isn't interested! So that looks very good! He says he's researched a lot! So it looks good we will have a theme and intro opening!
Really? That's interesting. Although I personally liked the CW's 90210 intro in season 2. I liked it for managing to be quiet and subdued (and even kinda sinister, if you will) while showing off beach fun. It explained the gist of the show's theme quite well.
In addition to an opening theme, I'd love to see characters on the CW reboot get their own individual themes. That seemed to be a significant aspect of the original series and it added to that grand cinematic saga quality they managed to tap into early on.
Wow, didn't see that coming. Sounds great.
But on the other hand I would be really surprised if they use such a long intro for every episode. Maybe a long version for the pilot and then a shorter one for the rest of the season like in TNTs Dallas Reboot.
I mean of course he says he wants more music in it... he's a composer! Like I said, it would be great, but what the studio wants could be a whole different story.
Let's wait and see...
