I'm trying to watch TNG at warp speed (because I want to get to the Borg) but I keep distracting myself watching various clips and tributes to the last 50 years on STAR TREK.

I got the entire original series from Sainsbury's. I paid 83p. I'm a valued customer. Sainsbury's even gave me back £36 for this purchase and a roast pheasant. Tactical purchasing is fun.

That DVD set also has the More Tribbles, More Troubles episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series on it, featuring the voices of most of the main cast with the exception of Walter Koenig, who wrote one. Stanley Adams reprises his TV role from The Trouble With Tribbles for this animated story with David Gerrold writing again. Also the set has the 30th anniversary of Star Trek episode that Star Trek: Deep Space 9 did, Trials and Tribble-ations.

I wish they'd done an animated version of TNG as well. Hell, they even could still do it!

Not in full. Only clips. Because I used to get lots of cult television magazines, I knew about the production of it, had read features and interviews connected with it. But seen it in full, no. Same with the 30th anniversary Star Trek Voyager episode, Flashback, with George Takei and Grace Lee Whitney from the original series guesting.

Oh, saw Jeffrey Hunter (Captain Pike in the pilot 'The Cage' and used to make The Menagerie) in this week's episode of The Green Hornet. The Green Hornet defeated him and his associates by a subtle combination of using his in-car rockets and then bombing them with his in-car Hornet Mortar. As well as beating them up with the aid of his assistant Kato (Bruce Lee).

At the risk of being blasphemous, as much a fan I am of the Trek franchise, many of those third-season shows of The Original Series were sub-par.

And they could record the cast separately for it again, as they did with Star Trek: The Animated Series.
I might view it later today. There are a couple of features including cast and crew interviews on the DS9 episode.

Well, I hope you had as much fun as I did with that one. DS9 is a brilliant story.

I haven't watched the series in over 20 years and back then I was never impressed like I was with all the other series.

I'm planning on doing TOS in the next couple of weeks, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works for me now.

I hate Star Trek, never understood the appeal but impressive that it's gone on for so long. Gimme Star Wars anyday!:spinning:

Why so much hate? It's about to start its 6th series this year, how much have you watched?

I'm surprised you've said this, when you're a big lover of other shows. Why can't you understand a show appealing to other people?

I watched the first few series and didn't like it.

I do understand that it appeals to others which is why I said it was great that it had reached its 50th year. It just doesn't appeal to me. Hope that's ok...or maybe I should not comment and stay over here with Darth Vader where it's safe..

I was with Dave Prowse in August. Jeremy Bulloch was there too. Last week, I watched Dave Prowse beat up Peter Wyngarde. Then afterwards, I watched Alexandra Bastedo beat up Dave Prowse, to the annoyance of Jeremy Brett.

Oh, it was a triple bill. A Tribble treble. With Stanley Adams twice a guest but seen in all 3. And a bit of a Charlie Brill double bill as Arne Darvin.

But if we didn't comment the forums would be boring.

Then again, I guess coming into a thread (where folk are discussing a show they like) and saying you hate it could have the potential to make others comment on your comment.

    Of which show?

    The Original Series
    The Next Generation
    Deep Space Nine
    Voyager
    Enterprise

Does Star Wars have the Prime Directive?

The Animated Series arrived today, along with a new baby in the family.

I think that's pretty widely acknowledged.
Seven, if you count the animated series as a separate production.

    It could potentially cause tribble?
