Apart from this wonderful forum I rarely get to speak to people who love Dallas as much as me, and that got me thinking - when watching the show am I the only who who thinks certain things such as...Am I the only one who wondered why Sue Ellen kept a full drinks cabinet in her condo but no one ever mentioned it...?

But my main query is....Am I the only one who presses fast forward every time Afton sings...?

You're not alone. I'm re-watching Lorimar Dallas and dread the soon-to-be-seen Afton singing stage. It suddenly felt out of place on Dallas. I also detest Afton's whisper/doe-eyed scenes. She was much better when she left the girly voice behind and actually spoke like an adult.

I liked Afton but not her singing, so I do ff when she sings. I also ff when Mark Graison, April, Jenna, Charlie is on screen and when Lucy sings and plays guitar in "Runaway" episode

Nope. The first time it was ok, but after that, fastforward.

Personally, I put it on mute.

And this is what was so amazing during the original run. It was something EVERYONE was talking about. We all had a laugh together over Afton's singing.

We even had Dallas parties on Friday nights, where people would gather to watch the show.

It was often said that DALLAS made it cool to stay home on Friday nights.

It wasn't just the singing that I hated (and muted). I also got so tired of Afton always saying: "Okay, I'm going to take a short break now." Alright, already! We know!

Let's just be glad that we didn't have to listen to Mark, April, Jenna, and Charlie sing as well. I don't think I could have handled hearing that, even Mark!

I would have liked to see Miss Ellie play the Southfork piano more often.

I'd rather not see any musical interludes in shows that don't sell themselves on being musical.
That applies to everything, not just Dallas. I hate random, out of place musical episodes, or worse, silly film noir inserts.
Musical shows, fine, but when you're not expecting it it's just annoying.

I actually find it really hard to watch musicals on tv. Except for Annie which I love. I just wanna get up and start dancing. Like you can do this in a theatre lol
