1. I kissed you in the water

And made your dry lips sing

I saw you look like a Japanese baby

In an instant I remembered everything

I haven't listened to this song very much, so it's been good to get to know it better and discover some different arrangements. The versions that worked for me best are the ones that are simple and not too indulgent.

    1. Stereophonics with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra
    2. Maysa
    3. Sarah Jane Morris
    4. Alison Moyet
    5. Journey South
    6. Gregorian
    7. Diana Ross
    8. Peter, Paul & Mary
    9. Andy Williams
    10. The Kingston Trio

I have to confess I was almost put off the song entirely when I first read that it was originally written by a married man for his mistress. So I was quite relieved that Seeger's caterwauling sounds godawful to my ears.

My only "problem" with several versions is that some artists sing it veeeeeeeeeeery slowly, with looooooooong pauses between each line, which caused me to think (and I'm using the clean version here): Stop stalling and get on with it!
    :)

I can't find anything to indicate Vikki sang it. Are you thinking of It Must Be Him?:

Here's one of the best-known versions of It Had To Be You:

Now you mention it, a mashup of these two songs would work really well!! ;)

    Every Breath You Take

Suggested by @Ome, "Every Breath You Take" is a song by English rock band The Police. Written by Sting, the single was the biggest hit of 1983, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for eight weeks (the band's only number-one hit on that chart), and the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. The song is considered to be both The Police and Sting's signature song and in 2010 was estimated to generate between a quarter and a third of Sting's music publishing income.

Sting wrote the song in 1982 in the aftermath of his separation from wife Frances Tomelty and the beginning of his relationship with Trudie Styler (their next door neighbour and his wife's best friend).

Sting later said he was disconcerted by how many people think the song is more positive than it is. He insists it is about the obsession with a lost lover, and the jealousy and surveillance that follow: "I think the song is very, very sinister and ugly and people have actually misinterpreted it as being a gentle little love song, when it's quite the opposite."

Every Breath You Take has been covered many times by artists including: The Shadows (1986); UB40 (2004); Tina Arena (2008); Piolo Pascual (2012).

99 versions may be found here. Check them out and rank them below.

I'm looking forward to seeing their choices. :D

    Oh, this is really nice.

I can't say I blame her. He might be good for the rain forests, but he wasn't very good to Frances.

@jessie : When I introduced Every Breath You Take, I meant to say not to include the Puff Daddy version as it's a heavy sample rather than a cover. Then I totally forgot to say it. So if you want to change it for another song you're very welcome to do so. :)
