I'm not sure if this shot if from CHARLOTTE or I SAW WHAT YOU DID, but given that Joan's got a gun -- and the camera angle -- I'm assuming it's from CHARLOTTE.

I actually purchased I Saw What You Did just a couple of months back at Walmart. I watched it the day I bought it, and I was actually surprised that I kinda liked it. To clarify, I thought the movie was decent, but I did find it a tad lengthy and sagging in its story in some areas, while I was also let down by the size of Crawford's role. I'll definitely watch it again. But then again I've always been attracted to Crawford's work, especially the roles that aren't necessarily the pick of the tops among most fans.

Yes, ISWYD isn't as famous, nor have as much potential, as STRAIT-JACKET, but ISWYD is smoother and much better executed, as it were. Although both were silly Castle productions.

Perfectly describes my love of Dark Shadows and Joan Bennett in it.

Just finished re-watching THE DAMNED DON'T CRY -- it's such a great little potboiler. And Joan's just so compromised throughout.

Her Warners period in the late-'40s really is her best era.

I've yet to take the time to watch The Damned Don't Cry, although I've had it in the four-movie Crawford DVD set TCM put some years back. I've watched the other three in the set---Mildred Pierce, Humoresque, and Possessed, and I believe those three collectively compromise some of Crawford's best work. But I don't think I've ever watched a movie of Crawford's I didn't like, either.

I've actually seen Trog a time or two, and while I will admit that it was definitely bad, I will also say I found it enjoyably bad.

Bette Davis was a much better actress (at least from what I've seen). But she seemed like a real piece of work in real life. Both of them were allegedly raging alcoholics.

Bette and Joan started on BBC last night and I caught up with Episode 1 when i got in from a night out

Really enjoyed it and thought Susan Sarandon was excellent as Bette Davis, also Alfred Molino as the director (i didnt recognise him) and lovely to see one of my favs Stanley Tucci in this

I see the BBC have released it all on iplayer and I have a feeling i will be binge watching it over the next few days!

From Radio Times, really enjoying her role as Bette Davis in this - hope she gets an Emmy

You’re playing Bette Davis in Feud: Bette and Joan. What do you have in common?

We’re both Yankees, value our gay following and we’ve got foul mouths.

What was it like to play her?

I met her. She actually approached me when I was really just a kid. Her daughter’s book came out and she wanted to do a film, but there wasn’t any script. I saw her interviews at festivals and on TV and that’s when I got more of a sense of the person. She was a strong performer; she did uglify herself and she didn’t mind seeming unsympathetic, which was unusual for that time.

Susan Sarandon in Feud: Bette and Joan (BBC)
Feud is about power – Joan and Bette fighting for power, as well as Hollywood’s power over them. Have things changed?

Actors are disposable. Women are even more disposable and the ageism, sexism and racism that are rabid in Hollywood play into that. Early on in my career, powerful women did nothing to help other women. These days there’s a huge tower block of funny women who can green-light projects, and have been very successful.

Have you been involved in a feud?

When I was younger, a couple of people – who shall not be named – tried to make my life miserable. One was a TV heart-throb who wasn’t used to women challenging him. I couldn’t work in an atmosphere where there’s tension. On Feud, someone was difficult and they were gone the next day.

    No political feuds?

Some people blame my support for Bernie Sanders for Hillary Clinton losing. Come on! Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Beyoncé, Jay-Z on her side and I ruined her chances? That’s crazy.

    Have you got a nemesis?

Not that I know of. Which isn’t bad for a long career in Hollywood.

Feud: Bette and Joan begins Saturday 16th December at 9pm on BBC2 – and the entire series is on iPlayer straight afterwards

I finished this show this week, (taking Corries slot for me)

I really enjoyed it and thought Alfred Molina and Susan Sarandon were wonderful, surely there is an Emmy with her name on it.
She also looks amazing for 71 in real life and i thought she totally nailed the part of Bette

I thought the final episode was really rather sad, 2 former greats of the 1940/50 resigned to doing pretty poor movies post Baby Jane, and Joan Crawfords death

Im going to have to hunt for the Divine feud, its in the loft somewhere! or i might just buy a new copy!!

Suddenly realised that I recognised the Doctor from the final episode

She was Molly Hagan aka Miss Ellie from Dallas The early years in 1986 (eek was it that long ago!!??)

    i cant stop humming this!

Lol! I made an awesome MP3 out if this! Anyone know the DVD release date? I ordered the set on Amazon.com, but they said a release date hasn't been scheduled.

I can't choose between them. So funny that these mortal enemies will always have their names forever linked together....

itts not showing up on Amazon UK with a date for DVD release - only the books

I hope it comes out soon, BBC has released all 8 episodes on their iplayer for 1 month

I will be having withdrawal symptoms if its not released on DVD

They have both nailed the parts and are brilliant in their roles especially Susan S

I'm currently enjoying my first re-watch of FEUD in anticipation of the VERSACE series and it's so much fun because I find this type of mini-series lends itself better to binge-watching than weekly installments.

Anyway, I originally missed a detail I don't think I ever knew about - Bette Davis took out an ad in Variety prior to BABY JANE's release looking for employment. Though she laughs it off later as a joke, the series does convey her sense of desperation as everyone expects the movie to bomb.

I find that mind-blowing and not surprising at all at the same time. She was Bette... F***ing... Davis! What a horrible town.
