Lynn Anderson is an American country music singer with big hair and famous songs.
But how does soapchat rank Lynn's Best 10 Of?

I just realized my terrible oversight: we should have done Kenny Rogers this week. But it feels disrespectful to cancel Lynn's top 10 so I'm not going to do that.

Aha. In spirit, he's also part of this top 10. Now I'm not feeling so ashamed anymore.

Going through Lynn's discography as we speak - they've uploaded every song she's ever recorded!
Country music, like every other music genre, has many sub-styles, and Lynn's repertoire is a potpourri of old-fashioned crooners, ballads (sometimes pop, sometimes schlager) and kicking-up-your-heels banjo & honky tonk,

Many of the songs sound a bit formulaic - a quiet start followed by the obligatory crescendo in the chorus, sometimes accompanied by backing vocals.
There's really no rhyme or reason as to what works for me or not.
Dolly Parton's You Are couldn't have done without it - it progresses naturally.

    But then in this song

the crescendo takes me out of the moment.
Not that it sounds bad but I find it a tad intrusive, but maybe that also has something to do with the song's subject because "smiling" is not a very intense expression.
I would have preferred this song to continue gently, without too much variation, like Petula's Dance With Me.

On top of that, youtube keeps trying to sidetrack me with Skeeter Davis' answer songs.

But was she the most popular female country singer? Or was it Dolly? Or Tammy? Or someone else?

American composer and conductor Bill Conti is the man behind many famous movie and tv series themes.
How does soapchat rank his 10 best compositions?

    1. Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous
Like Love Boat and Knots Landing, this is a theme that I can enjoy out of context i.e. without video.

    2. North & South (Main Theme)
Still as impressive and overwhelming as when I heard it for the first time on good old television.

    3. Falcon Crest

    4. The Final Bell (Rocky)
Eventhough it doesn't have potential to cross over to pop/charts I prefer this frenzied "cop show" version to Gonna Fly Now.

    5. Runaway (For Your Eyes Only)
Probably my least favourite of the classic Bond Soundtrack albums, but this is a decent disco tune.

    6. The Ovation (Slow Dancing In The Big City)
    7. Big Blue (Main Theme Bill Conti's Remake)
    8. The Colbys
    9. Dynasty
    10. Avenging Angelo (Main Theme)

    Favourite sidetracked-by-youtube -suggestions tune:

I thought "Lifestyles" was a remake of the original Come With Me Now, I didn't know it also featured on the movie soundtrack.
Since the movie version came first I'll count both as the title from your list. Thanks!

Sounds lovely. Somehow I must have overlooked this Bill Conti theme.
