Rumor has it that VP is in the run for TIME Magazine's "Person of the Year 2017"!
Interesting rumor, I wonder if there's any truth to it and why now?
What has she done that would qualify her as being "Person of the Year 2017?"
Okay so I just asked the JR/SE fans why they ship them and figured I'd do the same in this thread:
So what is it about Bobby & Pam that makes them so great to watch?
Why do you ship them? (if you do)
For me I think it's the reason that they are star-crossed lovers, they are the classical Romeo & Juliett couple who have to overcome so many obstacles to be together. They love each other and yet they are constantly caught in the middle of the Barnes-Ewing feud. Another thing that's great about this couple is that they never cheated on each other despite being tempted at times. Their love for each other was always stronger than whatever fleeting attraction they had for other people. So well in a way it's like the more Bobby and Pam went through in their marriage the more I was rooting for them to be happy together.
Great question Karin !!
well for me in first their amazing chemistry that make us believe in real love ; after: their strong love they had for each other despite their family feud ; and the fact that they were a very sexy couple ;but I think in really first it's the excellent acting of PD & VP with their facial expressions the hands touching when they were divorced on the show ; the moving scenes who make them crying ; no matter what happen we fans; all wanted them to be together and happy at the end ; it's incredible the way they had make an impression to people because still now after so many years we are still talking about them ; and how people still wanted them to be reunited on the new Dallas on tnt ; it's a prove that they really did a great job then anyway Karin yours pics are really beautiful Thanks for sharing
Thank you for getting back to me on why you ship them Silvie.
I think you are completely right when you say that the fact that the fans still talk about them and wanted them to reunite on Dallas TNT can be seen as a testimony to how well PD and VP did their job back in the 1980s. Their acting was superb and if you combine it with the great writing on original Dallas it's not so strange that we love this couple.
Also does anyone else wanna weight in on why you ship Bobby and Pam?
The show made Bobby and Pam very easy to root for, at least in the early years. The odds always seemed to be stacked against them: feuding families, conniving brothers, past and/or potential lovers complicating things, bad business deals and careers...but then at some point they lost a bit of steam, as Pam was no longer a Barnes and plagued with inability to bear a child as well as mental illness. That's probably why my attention turned toward the Krebbs so easily. But Pam will always be my favorite character on the show
I looked at both the Times list and this website and it does seem to be a false story.
Lovely pictures of Pam and Bobby I remember seeing the tower that Pam wanted to jump off when we were in Dallas in 2008.
Thanks for making that clear to us Sarah.
I'm glad you liked the photos. Cool that you saw that building while in Dallas 2008. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to do a proper Dallas sightseeing in town after we wasted our time getting stuck in the afternoon traffic.
But I did see the Oil Baron's Club, Ewing Oil Building and the Barnes-Wentworth building. Oh well hopefully I'll see more the next time I'll go to Dallas.
Thank you for weighing in on why you love Bobby and Pam @Ray&Donna I didn't know that Pam was your favorite character on the show. I thought it was Donna or Ray for sure. But that's cool. I'll admit it, Pam was my most favorite character on the show too...
Any more Bobby and Pam shipper wanna weigh in?
Or maybe you have some photos to share?
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. Karin, I love all of the screen caps you posted of Bobby and Pam recently. I am a Bobby and Pam shipper as well. Bobby and Pam's awesome lovestory and the Barnes-Ewing fued is Dallas for me. The character of Bobby Ewing and the TV show Dallas were never same for me after Pam crashed in the tanker on original Dallas and most especially after Bobby&Christopher found out on TNT's Dallas that Pam was dead and they both acted like she meant nothing to them.
Thanks Sanda for letting us know why you ship Bobby & Pam.
I think a lot of fans are in agreement that things were never the same after Pam crashed into that tanker.
But that last season when they were back together again sure was great so here's some more screencaps from that season:
That's all for now.
Karin, I love all of the screen caps you posted tonight of Bobby and Pam from their final season. I love Bobby and Pam's final season because they are they finally back together with their son Christopher but I am not a fan of Jenna being pregnant with Bobby's baby.
Thanks Karin for all thé amazing screen caps you have posted of my favorite couple,
I recently got this magazine...
It turned out to be a cartoon So not what I thought it was. Anyway it had some nice images in it too:
I don't think I've posted this scan before and if I have you probably won't be able to see it anymore due to all the broken links in this thread thanks to photobucket!
Oh well on a happier note when I first saw this photo in a magazine sometime in the 1990's I thought it was Shannen Doherty!
So I guess that means that VP is looking very youthful in this photo as I mistook her for a 20 something even though she was well into her 40s at that time!
Lol, I can see why you would have thought it was Shannon at first glance. The hair style, clothes, and pose certainly do have her look to them.
Lovely photo. I'm probably about the same age that she was at the time that it was taken and wish I could pull off wearing 20 years younger clothes like she can.
Thanks Karin. Super pic! Never seen this before. Gorgeous!! Thanks for posting
Really wonderful pics Karin, the last one of Victoria I have Never seen before thanks to share with US
I'm glad that you all liked the Victoria photo.
Here's another one from the 1990s.
I just stumbled over a really old youtube interview with Patrick from 1977 and thought I'd share it here:
