Perhaps Bobby, Sue Ellen and Cliff can dig up the bodies of Cliff, OldPam, Clayton, Ellie and JR buried on Southfork and have their way with them under the hot Texas sun.

That's the way I envision DALLAS ending once and for all.

Likewise! We need something to celebrate the 40th anniversary and also close up any remaining open storylines, IMO.

And if the "last" TV movie sucked, which it more than likely would, people would want yet another movie to wrap it up!

Meanwhile, DALLAS 2012 is a month away from being removed from Netflix so I expect a certain someone to honor us with at least a dozen new threads about it....

There's no reason there should ever be a "last". :)

I like the movie / mini series but the focus has to be on the next generation. Bobby and Sue Ellen cam make guest apprecances, let's see JRs master piece as a real master piece (and a continuation of the character like they did Jock) and a good story that sets up the story of the next generation (with out erasing stuff that's come before like Dallas has a tendency to do). So what is a good story?

    1. Start with the right set - enough said we all know what this means.

    2. Start with the right actors. I like Josh and Julie in their roles but I'm not sure I felt they had the presence - even the height. So here's a few possibilities (just ideas to start fresh):

Ryan McPartlin (6'3") as John Ross

Yvonne Strahovski (more in keeping with blonde Afton) as Pamela Rebecca

Matt Bomer (a little more nerdy looking) as Christopher

    3. Set a good classic base to the story like Cane and Abel was for the original Dallas (though it started as Romeo and Juliet I'll admit). Maybe a classic story of good verses evil where inherently good John Ross, lead a stray by the ghost of his father, his own self doubts, and Ewing enemies (known not newly made up) has to conquer monsters so he can be the better man - the man JR wished he could be, the ledgion (if not actual) of Jock Ewing, maybe even a bit of Clayton. Maybe the story of Joshua and Jericho or David and Goliath.

Expand Christopher's fracking technology and use it to extract all that oil underneath Southfork. Just as all the Ewing's, Barnes, The Cartel, Jeremy Wendell, McKay remnants, mother Ryland & Co., and special guest stars the Ramos family gather at Southfork for the annual Ewing Bar-b-Que suddenly there is an earth tremor. The ground opens up and swallows the entire party and the house with it....the end (and for some added juice), JR's laugh ending the series once and for all.:laughs:

Realistically I don't see this happening. I know it's hard for some people to accept, but sometimes it is really better just to let it go and move on. And we'll always have the memories.

They should make a New Series called Dallas: The Next Generation, similar format to the lame Cyntax show but with more Ewing's.

Get rid of the Ramos family but keep the Rylands. Bring back Patrick Duffy, Ken Kercheval & Linda Gray. Of the newer cast, bring back Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe & Julie Gonzalo. Introduce new actors to play Luke Krebbs Ewing & Margaret Krebbs.

Have Jock's distant cousins arrive at the ranch with there families.

Dallas still has the potential to be a great series. It just needs the right person in charge of it & some good writers. :)

I'm sure they'll try to jump on the bandwagon once NuDynasty has become the 2017 Soap Smash.

I do wish Dynasty 2.0 success (if only for actors, writers, producers and crew) to have employment. It would be ironic if it did become successful and a huge slap in the face for those responsible for the mess that was TNT Dallas.

A TV-movie reunion would be fine to give a little closure.

And, IMO, those writers should realize that all the deep, intense crime drama was hardly (IINM) part and parcel of the O-R 1978-91 CBS series.

We just ran a Poll asking fans if they wanted to see a new Dallas TV series made. We were not expecting these results. ZDFFFFF.jpg

Well it seems like the vote is conclusive. Most Dallas fans on twitter wants the show to return. :)

Was thinking the same. What is it about this fictional family that still has the world intrigued? Given the initial ratings (U.S.) when TNT Dallas aired it was clear an audience was still clamouring for the Ewing family. A shame and poor judgement that this iconic show was given to a showrunner without a clue what made Dallas so successful in those early years.

    Can someone explain how that poll worked? It would appear two questions were raised in the same sentence which could easily have confused voters. It should have read;
Vote YES, if you would like to see the return of Dallas.
Vote No, if the show is best left alone.

I'm assuming this poll was conducted on Facebook? Not everyone is fluent with English or its idioms. Some people might have voted yes thinking Dallas is best left alone.

Or am I an idiot? Feel free to whack me with your thoughts :confuse:
