I don't think it's the actress, but moreover what Corrie are asking her to do and I think she's about 59 years old, she just looks much younger.

Isn't it the same actress who played Mike Baldwin's solicitor, Frankie back in the day?

What a friggin' idiot Seb is for looking out of that window, it won't be long before Phelan is on the other side looking in?

Is that it for Steph? I thought she was going to be part of Phelan's downfall.

I'm really enjoying the reaction of the neighbours over Daniel & Carla.

Will someone do me a favour and send Chesney to acting school, preferably in New Zealand.

I think Amy is a far better actor than Chesney, Simon, Summer, Sinead, Kirk, Maria, Sean and Izzy

Is billy always in so much pain, or is it just when he's on my screen? Honestly, talk about over-acting

Steve would have done Eileen a favour eating that cake and now "Fat" Brenda is Brenda, Eileen think on.

Billy is doing my head in with all those painful expressions and I swear he must have taken 90 minutes to get out of that clinic, he seemed to finish with the doc and it went to couple more scenes, then we saw him hobbling out.

Though I also caught how fast he can walk when it matters, no sooner had Izzy left her bag on the table and he was gone with the tablets faster than Sean can turn his head when he runs out of things to say.

For the first time in (I can even remember if there was actually a time) long time, I found Sean somewhat entertaining as he was waiting on Tyrone.

Michelle's son should rock up in tonight's episode, I'm looking forward to this story.

Race for Wife??? What was that all about, where did this come from? No, don't answer that I'm not interested, still, it was good to see Robert can wear Nick's jogging clothes, not all was lost.

It comes to something when I'm actually wanting to see more of Tyrone & Sean's dinner date over that whacky races shenanigans.

Never did I ever think I would be pleased to see Phelan turn up conveniently, but I was more than happy when he arrived to save Summer and speaking of Summer, the actress is winning me over by her sad little miserable life of looking after painful Billy.

This was when I switched off Corrie and went on a Corrie break

its so far fetched and how anyone survives it then 2 weeks later home from hospital, hobbling about (isnt his house a flat and up stairs??) defies me

I will tune back in in the Spring and see if its better

but a friend at work sent me the link of bouncing Billy as she calls him

A couple of nights ago I was channel surfing with the sound switched down and flicked past a scene of Gail and a young woman chatting. The staging was very inviting. The lamp lit living - and the scene itself - room looked cosy and intimate.

Turning the volume up, I was very happy to catch the tail end of a conversation in which Gail was quizzed by the young woman about her former loves (presumably paving the way for Martin's return). Asked who she would choose today, she mentioned Brian as having good hair and teeth, but then decided against having him back in case his mum Ivy followed him.

It was a nice, simple, quiet scene which honoured the history of the show and characters while also moving the characters forward in their relationships in the present day.

This is the kind of Corrie I could happily settle down to watch on a regular basis.

Well... We are often treated to little gems like this and more often these days since they started showing the 80s Corrie. There's been a lot of focus on Susan Baldwin with Adam finding out who was partly responsible for her death back in 2001.

There's a new character coming into the show who is - hang on, I'll let wiki explain

Rosemary, played by Sophie Thompson, will make her first appearance in March 2018. The character and Thompson's casting details were announced on 18 January 2018. Rosemary is a psychic medium, who tells Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) that she has been in contact with her late husband Alf Roberts (Bryan Mosley). Audrey's daughter Gail is unconvinced, but Rosemary tells her that she has also received messages from Gail's former, deceased husbands, including Richard Hillman (Brian Capron). Of Thompson's casting, a show spokesperson stated, "Sophie is perfect for the role of Rosemary and we are excited she is joining the cast and working alongside Helen and Sue. Gail and Audrey are convinced she is getting messages from Alf and Gail's husbands. It remains to be seen if she is all she claims to be."

But, with these little nods to its history, it doesn't change the big dramatic stunts, some of which I'm not sure you would enjoy unless you really loved Gary blowing up Empire Valley...

Having said that, they really pulled out all the stops for Bethany's grooming storyline and I'm very eager to see how they deal with the male rape story involving David, which is why Martin returns.
