Oh my Gawwwwd!!
Now Courtney, Josie and Marcia have exactly the same face!! Are they sharing a secret...?
I don't know how serious she is. She did leave the show the first time. I don't know if she was offered a spot on the last revival.
Ummmmm.....I thought there already had been a failed MP reboot??
There was but if Revenge can (allegedly) get a new chance then Melrose can!
Why another reboot? It would be awful. They'd need to remember all the crap that happened on the first one! I doubt anyone would be there anymore. Will all the originals from CW still be there or will there be all new people? What about that stupid Michael faking Sydney's death? What about how bad the reboot was? I don't think we will get anything else for containing any of the big nighttime
The last reboot suffered from 'everything must be gritty' syndrome.
Having just rewatched this, I think Courtney's response was very diplomatic when the fantasy of her joining in a reboot was floated out to her by the vacuous presenter. Nowhere did she say an outright "no", but it's clear she wouldn't want to do it. The questions she fired back ("Are we still in the apartment building? Has nobody moved on?") said it all really.
She said she'd like to do "something" with the rest of the cast, which was nice. And I'm sure it's true, since she was there for the EW 20th anniversary photoshoot and interviews.
Fox passed on it in 2009. It also passed on 90210 in 2008. CW ruined both and they should not try to do these again! It’s been 8 years soon that MP ended on CW. When it premiered it had been 10 years since it ended on FOX. But it was only 18 episodes on CW, NOT several seasons! That’s why it’s best to leave it alone. Josie Bissett is even playing dumb that the 2009-2010 version didn’t happen and wants to reboot it, as does Jack Wagner...everyone just wants to pretend the CW reboot didn’t happen when it did.
Neither the 90210 or the Melrose reboot were ever shopped to Fox. CBS Studios owns most of the Spelling library, which is why 90210, Melrose '09, Beauty and the Beast, Dynasty and now potentially the Charmed reboot ended up on the CW (though the Charmed reboot was first developed for CBS).
