    Thank you for the link!

Funny how some of the cars, including Jock's Lincoln, would still be fun to own today.

But then you see Sue Ellen's wood paneled station wagon. What were we all thinking back then?

my mom had a 70s pre-downsizing green Ford LTD wagon, no yacht-deck 'wood' paneling to be seen, then went with a beige '81 LTD. My sister and I thought they were terrible and embarrassing, but I bet I'd find the earlier one pretty cool now.

That's another one that I suspect would struggle to be considering as a great driver's car, the handling may be a tad cumbersome.

And the less said about the car that Sue Ellen stole to flee the sanatorium.

It's like a lot of time periods - they have things people see as "cool" that later on, people will laugh at. Today the cars are better than they were a few years ago when they had no style. Three or four years ago and even ten years ago, the cars had absolutely no style. Today it's not the cars that will be laughed at in the future but something else entirely. Now it's the beards that will make people ask: "What were they thinking? What is that half-way crap? Did they want a beard or not? Either shave or grow a beard; don't walk around like you've had a rough weekend and were too lazy to shave"!

I know it will be like that too because back in the 70s, I remember someone asking my uncle why he didn't grow a beard again because he used to have one and it looked good. He replied: "I wouldn't mind having a beard again but it's those first two weeks I don't want to go through again, those first two weeks when you walk around feeling like you wish you could put a brown paper bag over your head."

Now guys are specifically going for that "first two weeks when you walk around feeling like you wish you could put a brown paper bag over your head" look! It's bizarre!

Don't even get me started on so many guys trying to look like Kojak. I'll just say there was a reason why that look did not catch in then! Some guys can pull off that look, just like Don Johnson could make the stubble look look good. That does not mean everyone can!

Getting back to cars, what make and model of car was it that Jack Ewing bought - that sports car?

It’s like my Grandas old - as they said in N Ireland - ‘jippy Lada’. It was red - my fave colour- with a red interior and red seats.

I’d kill for it now although I think they were all shipped to Russia...
