With Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus simultaneously on the charts recently, I was trying to think of other father and daughter combinations who have achieved the same feat.

The only ones I came up with were Frank and Nancy Sinatra in the sixties.

I'm pretty sure that Marty Wilde's chart days were over before Kim started recording, and Nat 'King' Cole was dead when Natalie had her first hit.

    Any others?

What about Pat Boone and Debby Boone? i know that Pat Boone had a #1 hit with "Moon River" in 1961 on the Billboard charts and his daughter Debby Boone had a also a #1 hit with "You Light Up My Life" for 10 weeks on the Billboard charts in 1977, it was even the longest #1 hit in the 70's. :)

Most soulful father/daughter combo goes to Jimmy and Mahalia Barnes.

They've done a fantastic rendition of Please Come Home For Christmas. But there's also...

Oh wait. I realise the Barneses (possibly) don't fit into this requirement of both having hits in the chart simultaneously.

Ah well, it was a good enough excuse to post a couple of nice songs though.

I'm not sure how they fared chart-wise, but Johnny and Roseanne Cash made some sweet music together.

I don't believe they were ever on the charts individually at the same time, however Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole were a favourite father/daughter duo of mine. His posthumous duet of Unforgettable with Natalie in 1991 was very beautiful.
