One other thing about my shopping at the top of every month at the Wal-Mart in Simpsonville-- it's been a practical madhouse most times I've gone up there with my mother (that's who accompanies me, is my mother); we're usually quite exhausted by the time we get everything purchased, checked out, back home, and unloaded!

The check-out lines don't help either; usually, we're in long ones behind people who may or may not have as much as us (my mother always goes first; she has her cart, and I have mine).

One thing I've found with larger stores like WalMart, Costco, BJ's, etc. is that it's worth it to shop there at non-traditional times. If I need one or two items, I go to WalMart after 7pm most weeknights, since it's much easier to get a parking space and get in/out with my few items. Sunday mornings are also ideal, though the in-stock conditions are questionable (Saturday afternoons at WM resemble scenes from the French Revolution).
