My ears are burning. Might have something to do with that hairspray incident.
If you mean the links to Snarky's profiles on IMDb or Photobucket, they have been removed by the administrators. If you mean the pictures, that must be on your end as - like Matthew - I can see them even in your quote of my post.
Could you send me those again via PM? Thanks.
Except that it probably wasn't real hairspray...
Nevertheless, in true soap tradition, Kristin's body has never been found, so I'm still sleeping with one eye open
A visit from a special guest star:
Just the noticed the new tags at the top of the page, I don't see them on any other forum. How do they work I wonder?
Miss Piggy says that she took a very suspicious photo a couple of weeks ago, of Kermit and "that slutty joke of a pig". She hints the pic is very revealing and suggests to whisper Denise´s name to the FBI...because she thinks that Denise is responsible for the site crash!! (Actually she said: "It was you, Denise, who crashed Soapchat!")
And also the new colours. Purple, pink and gold. Gorgeous!
This change of forum set up is like La Mirage fire. The place is gone, some people came back with new faces, some others didn't come back at all.
Now we moved to Carlton, which is more minimalistic. That's why we can't rate somebody's reply with whole range of emoticons.
Because most of the budget is spent on the look of this new forum - and it looks even better than the show itself.
That's a very nice and accurate metaphor. However...
I personally prefer The Carlton to La Mirage, though flawed - there is a certain sophistication and character to it I thought La Mirage lacked. For this reason, I feel the old SoapChat (rich with content and variety of discussions) was The Carlton and we regressed to La Mirage. No offense to any of those doing their best to bring the old luster back.
Its funny, because I can remember what The Carlton looked like, yet whenever I try to remember La Mirage, all I remember are groups of people, white walls, the tennis court, the pool (arguably the best area of the place), Fallon's office, the rooms Dominique, Dex, Claudia and Amanda all stayed in, the fireplace area that had the arch where you could see through the other side, the front desk, the dining area, and... that's it.
Sure, that might sound like a lot, but arguably, its not. I can remember the *entirety* of The Carlton, whereas La Mirage, its all just patches and pieces. I didn't feel like one big area. And what's more, I had to think for a moment to remember all those La Mirage areas. With The Carlton, I can remember it all *click* like that.
I am not a fan of La Mirage either but at least there was some diversity of interiors in season 6. When you watch scenes from season 7 everything outside the mansion seems to look the same, Blake's office and temporary flat, Denver Mirror office, Steven's flat. I feel like I was trapped inside one building along with a bad script and new Amanda, and there is no way to run out of this mental hospital full of identical rooms.
Oh, Gee, I can't wait to start Season 7! lol
And my question still has yet to be sufficiently answered.
If I'm to read between the lines, I'd guess that the board crashed somehow? (Is this confirmed or merely an assumption some have made?)
All of the old threads are gone. I'm to believe they're not recoverable?
And peoiple are registering new accounts because the old user accounts and histories have also been lost somehow.
This may or may not be connected to some content that was posted on the board prior to the "crash."
There are current moderators who have deleted links to content to content that has been posted since the alleged crash.
Where are the current forum rules posted?
To be clear, the entire history of forum topics, posts, and collections of commentary and information that made up this amazing forum are now completely gone?
The free hosting site the board had been using crashed on Monday, September 12th. SoapChat moderators believed the site was backing up the data, but that wasn't the case.
After the crash, all content from the past 15+years (about 2.7 million posts) was wiped out in an instant. As brutal as it sounds - all of those amazing posts, some of which many of us had spent a great deal of time and effort to come up with are gone for good.
You could still find many of the pages in Google or Bing cache days after the crash, but at this point I've noticed even those are being deleted by the search engines, as their bots fail to re-index them.
The new (paid) hosting site is said to be backing up the data, so a similar situation should be avoided in the future.
The tragedy of it all is that it was only about 10 GB. The posted pictures and videos were always hosted elsewhere, so the actual size of that incredible content amassed over the past 2 decades was small enough for anyone to back up at home.
For more on what happened and what is happening I recommend the Help & Bug Reporting section of the board:
Yes, as Gabriel explains, we lost everything through a hosting site that crashed.
Sadly, yes it appears we have lost everything.
Yes and we're trying to re-build the forums
I don't understand the question.
No moderators have deleted any links to previous content on these forums.
Where they've always been at the bottom of the page under HELP.
These are the same forum rules you read on Thursday when you registered with the site.
Thanks for your response. Regarding the "deleted" links, and rules question, I think that's related to another users comment that I misinterpreted. Looking forward to starting anew here. Thanks!
I could cry.
