Wouldn't someone who claimed they'd been framed worry about their reputation? Regardless, the reporter's expose would make folk wonder why Caress wrote lies, and assume correctly for the money. Presumably the reward for her spectacular publication was moolah by the buckets full. Alexis would just distance herself from Caress's feverish imaginings. The reporter would have his/her work cut out for them to try and show how much of a big fraud Alexis truly was. No?
