DALLAS filmed six weeks every summer in Texas. FALCON CREST filmed every summer in Napa. KNOTS, naturally, had the beach nearby. DYNASTY only took the cast to Denver once, and that was to film inside at the 1983 Carousel Ball, using no opportunity at all to do any exterior shooting except to see the actors enter the party from the sidewalk. But if DYNASTY had filmed a month -- or even a week -- every summer away from Hollywood, where would you have them film? It seems obvious that a little street shooting could be done in downtown Denver; and the exterior of Filoli, south of San Francisco, in the estate's gardens seems like a must. But where should they film in order to capture the majestic terrain surrounding the mansion? Since DYNASTY and its environs should have been like Colorado on steroids, I always think Glacier National Park (a few hundred miles north in Montana just below the Canadian border) would have been fabulously idyllic.
