    By going on health walks, I have discovered some of the most delightful homemade cakes at the health walk venues. Children even bake biscuits for the health walkers. As they should. Even a chocolate orange one. So I walk even more to make up for it. I wouldn’t want to refuse them.

    Just occasionally pop out for a little stroll. But on the health walks, they sometimes have homemade cakes, jam tarts, biscuits and blueberry muffins afterwards.

    My blood glucose readings have now gone back to normal levels each day for the last month. 4.7 mmol/L this morning and always under 5.6. My HbA1c came down from 12.2% to 8.6% to 5.6% in six months. I was asked to aim for 7.5% but I shrank by an extra 18 kilos on top of the previous 15 kilos by eating a lot more but generally more healthy choices but a lot more cake too, while creating a larger calorie deficit via exercise.
