The chances are you will be happier in your 30's. By then you have more a sense of who you are, what you want and what you don't want, and will have hopefully learned from some of your mistakes in your 20's.

I know what you mean, time does seem to go faster and faster with each passing year.

30 is ancient if you ask my pupils. 30 is almost infant if you ask my eldest colleagues.

Last week a coworker asked me how old I was. When I told him, he said, "Dang, you are *young*." He was only 8 years older than I was. But I realized that's often been a recurring thing in my life: I've always been "the young one". I was often dragged to my mom's friends' parties, so I was a kid in a room full of adults; in middle school I was slow and naive, so emotionally I was younger than them (not to mention a lot less knowledgeable about sex; the subject never interested me, and the other students used that against me); I was in Running Start so I got into some college classes while still 'high school age'; when I started working I was mostly around people who were much older (I still remember my very first job where I kept on getting cornered by some old guy - and by "old" I mean white-haired and wrinkled - who'd lecture me about my future). Heck, even in my current household I'm the youngest one - not unless you wanna count the cat, but still.

Weird thing is, I've also had experience being "the older one", since I have younger siblings/cousins; and whenever my family would visit with other families from church, I was always one of the bigger kids. Plus I've met adults whom I'm certain I was more mature than.

I guess the point is while I can adjust to becoming older, its only a matter of time before I can't be "the young one" anymore. Not unless I always stick to a certain crowd, but that sounds too exhausting.

    I understand perfectly.

I am the youngest of all my 16063 cousins (they're actually only 36 of them, but it feels like more). My youngest cousin is 3 years older than I am. My oldest is older than my mom. So I've always been the "baby" in the family.

Plus, I look younger than I am. People assume I'm in my mid-to-late 20s. Even my pupils do! They often guess around 27-ish. THANKS!

I am one of the youngest at work too. I think there are two guys that are younger, one of them only a few months younger though.

However, all my close friends are younger than I am. Anywhere between 1 and 5 years younger. So there I am suddenly old.

However, I do still enjoy having to show off my ID when buying alcohol. As if there's no way to tell if I am above the age of 20 or not.:lol::lol: (I am 35, by the way - but in my mind I'm still 28).

Its like you're stuck between two worlds, and the only way out is to simply get older. X)
