Although I don't approve of fur in any sense, I do love this scene so much.
If you disapprove of fur, how do you feel about leather?
Thank you everyone for the great photos.
Yes Sarah I know that's how CC had planned to reunite them if Larry hadn't died. However that's not what I meant with my question. I was wondering which ideas you and other fans had for their reconciliation. If you were on the writer's team how would you have done it?
Although I would have prefered to have them remarried and living at Southfork when Dallas TNT began instead of having JR rottening away at that home for decades this is how I would have done it if I were to work with what was given to us at the start of season one...
I definitely think they should have kept the scene of them dancing at the BBQ. (To cut that scene was a crime!)
So that dancing scene together with him giving her the pearls is already a start for them getting back together. Then when John Ross got beaten down and JR came to visit him at the hospital. I would have wanted Sue Ellen to find him there and for them to bond some more over John Ross. I would not have included the scene where she punch him in the nose. But I would have kept the scene where he tells her that she is strong at the hospital and also all the scenes surrounding her losing the governor election and JR's involvement in it all. I did love that kiss on the cheek when he showed up at her doorstep...
Then in season two I would continue to show them growing closer, going out for dinner, him showing up with his yellow roses at her doorstep as he courts her.
Then on their wedding day he shows up with a copy of their wedding film, transferred from super8 to DVD and shows it to her. (since we don't have their first wedding on film it would have to be their second one) They starts talking memories and he tells her that the biggest mistake he ever did was messing up their marriage. He tells her that he misses her and still loves her. She says it back. The episode then ends with them kissing in the sofa and we realize in the next episode that he's spent the night when we see them having breakfast together. Then they are back together after that.
Not really wanting to discuss it on this thread but I disapprove of any thing that involves an animal being killed. Hope that answers the question but let’s keep on topic here.
Happy Birthday @Sarah !
Hi @Karin Schill - thanks, sorry I misunderstood. Let me have a think about your question.
Today is Valentine's Day, so I'd like to mark it with a picture of the hottest couple ever!
Coincedentally, 15th February would have been JR and Sue Ellen's wedding anniversary and would mark their 36th year together (counting from their second marriage)!
Great picture Sarah. They sure are hot!
Also I hate to contradict you, but the 15th of February was their first wedding date and they tied the knot in 1970. So it's actually 48 years ago!
Their second wedding was on 3rd of December, 1982.
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
Silly me that is stress for you! something must be wrong with me to get that wrong Guess 15th just stuck in my head more cos of Valentines but I did know the 3rd December one too - just my stupid head playing up again! Thanks Karin!! ❤️ 48 years is much better!
No worries @Sarah .
Yeah 48 years is a lifetime. Almost a golden anniversary... (50th)...
Also I'm still waiting to hear how you would have reunited JR/SE on Dallas TNT if you had been on the writer's team...
I am really looking forward to read whatever you or anyone else come up with.
Although it should be pointed out that JR and Sue Ellen were originally married in 1971... they only changed it for this "old" wedding invite:
@Snarky's Ghost how do you figured JR/SE were married in 1971?
Now I'm curious as I might have missed something...
Thanks for the photos @garry
They were married in 1971. That I DO know in the early days the story goes that they married four years after meeting - which was in 1967. @Snarky's Ghost is right.
Stunning photos thanks @garry ! Well apart from that thing in the right hand corner
Well it's not a question of being right or wrong. What I would like to know is what in the show made you @Snarky's Ghost think they were married in 1971?
I thought they were married in 1970 and obviously I based that assumption on the old wedding invitation.
If anyone knows some exact episodes where this was discussed please tell me!
Then as for their meeting I am not even sure that was in 1967 either to be honest. I know they say in the dream season that Sue Ellen was Miss Texas in 1967. But well in the Anniversary episode when he digs out the old tape of the competition he says that it was 14 years ago tonight and well the episode was broadcast on 12 February 1982, so if you go back 14 years from that date they would have met in 1968.
