Isn't that like saying though that without the scheme Winger would've won??

I love the blue sheet scene so much my dvd is permanently stuck on pause.

Sorry I'm going through it today.

Well I think with the scheme, she sped up what JR would have done anyway. I have it digitally through Amazon Prime. I watch it constantly in work. Pause. Rewind. Repeat only about a zillion times.:p

I was watching the eppy, Anniversary, where JR brings over the tape of her being Miss Texas. I love the end when they kiss, but just curious about everyone's thoughts. Do you think they just kissed or had sex? Fun one to explore. :)

Pretty sure they just kissed. It would have been obvious from Sue Ellen's POV had they slept together. I don't think she would have at this stage in their relationship.

Good question though and it leads me on to - when do you think the first time they had sex was after the reconciliation after BD Calhoun? There's a scene in the bedroom - the one where he tells her 'I'm with you because I wanna be..." and I'm wondering was it then?

Yes I think they only kissed. I agree that in S9 that's when they did it too.

If you watch that scene really closely, when he switches off the light, he undoes her top.

Finally worked my way to the end of this thread...

Question: Which reconciliation scene/period was your favourite?
Mine has to be the dream season, from the kitchen kiss to the blue sheets scene. Close second is season 5, you can really see how hard J.R. worked to seduce Sue Ellen before they married the first time.

I always assumed that they had sex and that they would be back together after it. I mean Sue Ellen had spent a lot of time with Dusty who was impotent so it had been quite a while since she'd been with a man and JR had told her before that "he had wanted to be with her tonight." So that was my interpretation of it!

I think not considering the fact that JR was still recovering from being shot. So I think it might have been a bit later.

Mine is also the dream season since they had such agreat character develoment that season. It is followed by the reconciliation after his father died. Considering that JR's life had changed so much with losing Jock I bought it when he said that he had changed and that he missed Sue Ellen and wanted his wife back. :love8:

See, I had believed the same when I first watched, however... Given that Jock's death would leave the company wide open, when I watch those episodes now, it's obvious that J.R. would do ANYTHING for the company and his father's honour, so I'm not sure why I was ever so surprised that he cheated with Holly Harwood.

Having agonised over this for years, I think you are right. It's like Sue Ellen said to him once 'You still make the distinction between the women you take to bed for pleasure, and the women you take to bed for business'.

So in his head, he thought that distinction was ok, and that Sue Ellen would always be there. That's what I think anyway.

I also think he was very surprised by her kiss (above). I don't think he expected that.

Actually, thinking about the above, I think they did 'something' in the scene where he asks her to stay and that was BEFORE the 'I'm with you because I wanna be scene'. So I think they had sex already.

    Sorry 'made lurrrrrrrrrrrve'. ;)

Thinking of the scene where he asks her to stay because he thinks they can make it work, where do you think she was going? She thinks he's asleep, and goes to get up....but I have never understood if she is going to get a drink or going back to her room??

Hi guys I know everyone is busy but we're trying really hard to keep this thread alive. Would be great to get some more discussion going when everyone has time :)

I've been thinking again about Kimberly Cryder since my last update on the writers room and have come to this conclusion:

    * I think JR thought when Sue Ellen found them together that she would go back to the bottle and he could keep her where he wanted her until he'd worked out what to do about WestStar

*OR - he would see her leave and think he could get her back at another date as he always had done in the past.

*I don't think he would have ever married Kimberly.

What does anyone else think?? Please let's keep the thread alive!! @Miss Texas 1967 @zephiey @Karin Schill @Alexia @Crazy For Sue Ellen @Goldie @Justine

I think he thought he'd get her back like always, and I dont think he'd have married Kimberly at all.
