Despite hundreds of abuser-of-the-week flicks on the small screen that had overwhelmed the TV movie format in the dozen years prior to this (where the villain was always male), the feminists had a duck fit over even one being shown where the woman was the abuser.

They pressured the network to never show this 1993 movie again, and it was never released on home video. The '90s cry was that "women don't behave the way men do" and they told Light that the film was "anti-woman."
