Aged just 60
Gosh, that's a shocker!
So many of the people I used to watch on TV when I was young have died in recent years: Brian Cant, Mike Smith, John Noakes, Tony Hart and now Cheggers. 60 is too young an age to die.
I will add that while watching 80s Corrie (currently showing in the afternoons) I'm finding it extremely sad as I look at the cast back then.
As well as Percy, Phyllis, Alf Ida & Hilda
All gone from my childhood TV viewing
My very thought. I had to re-read the title to make sure I'd read it correctly.
Incidentally, I could have sworn he was married to Sarah Greene, but that was Mike Smith, wasn't it?
Also - I had no idea until today that Cheggers had co-written S Club 7's Reach. Now I'm finding the lyrics strangely moving.
Which is almost as catchy as...
This will always be my favourite offering from Cheggers
oh RIP Keith Chegwin
I loved Swap shop then along came Tiswas and used to switch between the 2
also loved Cheggars plays Pop, (pop, pop)
i think he had a daughter with Maggie Philbin
I watched the tribute to Joan Noakes last night, fair took me back!
Shocking, I wasn't aware that he had been unwell.
@Mel O’Kalikimaka i thought he was involved with Sarah Greene at some point too!
The connection has come to me now - they were on Saturday Superstore together.
As I remember he was quite good friends with her.
