Star Trek actor and punk musician Jon Paul Steuer has passed away at just 33 years old. Jon Paul Steuer, who was also known as Jonny Jewels, is believed to have died on New Year's Day (January 1), but the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Paying tribute to their 'singer and friend', Steuer's band P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. released a statement on Facebook confirming the sad news on Wednesday (January 3). "The addition of Jonny to our dysfunctional band family was one of the best choices that we have ever made, and he brought a much needed sense of fun and lightheartedness to everything we did. "He was only with us for a little more than a year, but we managed to cram a lifetime of great experiences into his tenure as our singer." As well as being a prominent force in the punk scene in the US, Steuer is best known for his work as a child actor, starring in the likes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Little Giants and '90s sitcom Grace Under Fire. Despite quitting acting at the age of 12, Jon Paul Steuer won fans with the first portrayal of Klingon Alexander Rozhenko – Worf and Ambassador K'Ehleyr's son – in The Next Generation.
