Law & Order SVU - New season
Gran Hotel S2 Ep26
It's not just a soap, it's an homage to the soap genre.
*cries of happiness*
Thanks @Willie Oleson, i just seen the trailer of this show on Youtube, this show looks amazing, i'm going to follow this series too.
Bud it only lasted for 3 seasons.
And there are 66 episodes, instead of 37 as listed on IMDB
That's more than TNT Dallas.
But so much happens in every single episode, they could have stretched it out to 100 episodes or more if they wanted to.
Everything that can happen in a soap happens in Gran Hotel (except for the UFO)
This has been on top of my to-watch list ever since it was mentioned on this forum by someone else, but they never showed it on Dutch or Belgian television and the DVDs were not available at that time.
The first one (rather expensive) was released in 2015, and the seasons were split in volumes (don't you just hate that).
However, I just found the complete series from 2016:
There's also the Spanish, French and German release but AFAIK none of those have English subtitles, so Netflix is the only option for the English speaking people.
I've subscribed to Netflix for New Dynasty but I've found so much better stuff: the last season of The Good Wife (so I didn't have to buy the DVD), American Horror Story (I used to rent them from the library), The Americans (I had watched the first 2 seasons on television), Penny Dreadful, Slasher (another unexpected gem) and Black Mirror (hi-quality must-see TV).
Once I've finished GH and the new season of Black Mirror, I'm going to take a break from Netflix and start re-watching the classic soaps and mini-series DVDs I have bought in the last few years. (Dallas, LA Law, Sisters, Cagney & Lacey, Sapphire And Steel etc).
Anway, enjoy GH, I think you're going to love it
Ok that's great news @Willie Oleson, now i have 29 more episode to watch. I look forward to watch the rest of the show.
I have never heard of this series myself, but by coincidence I stumbled on a trailer on YouTube and I kept watching and I was quite impressed. I also found the complete series on dvd on the internet but I don't not want to buy too many series on DVD anymore, because I already have a whole collection of series on dvd in my collection. But I am very happy that this series can now be seen on Netflix, which gives me the time to follow this series. And yes i need my Dutch subtitles, unless they speak just Dutch are Englisch.
Yes i do hate when they split the seasons in two, that's why i never buy them i only want a full season on dvd. The only tv-show that i have in seasons splits is "Hunter" (1984), but that's was the only way to get this show on dvd in my collection.
I'm watching Dynasty on Netflix too, but i guess your right, i think there are much better shows to watch on Netflix, like Orpahn Black is a grreat show, and what you just sais @Willie Oleson, i'm glad is was on Netflix so i didn't have to buy a series on dvd.
That's a great idea @Willie Oleson, to take a break from the newer series, and go back to the old ones. Because Dallas will soon be celebrating its 40th anniversary, I think it will be fun to start all over again with the older seasons of Dallas. I am also very excited to continue with Miami Vice, Magnum P.I. and Footballers Wives (UK series). The Walking Dead is the only newer show that i'm continue to watch on dvd. Next week i'll start with season 4.
Thanks @Willie Oleson, i think i will indeed love this show too.
I've been tempted to buy this series many times but somehow I never did. Some years ago it was available from Blokker for only 20 euros, but that was without the Extra Time spin-off.
Do you have this Dutch release (Noppen & Naaldhakken) or the UK version that includes the spin-off series?
