We all love the incidental music of Dallas (well most of it)

Isn’t it high time we all banded together and tried getting it finally released?

We’ve heard things before that it might happen but it hasn’t! Let’s start 2020 with a combined effort.

I’m suggesting we email silva screen records. Google them and you’ll see they’re a UK based company that releases some really good and also random soundtracks of various films and TV shows. I’m sure if a few of us emailed them they might be interested in a Dallas soundtrack CD.

    What do we all think?

Over a decade ago, now, Film Music Society were planning to release Jerrold Immel's scores from Dallas and Knots Landing. Jerrold himself spoke of it in an interview. In fact, their membership page still cites it as an upcoming project (fifth paragraph down).

A few of us emailed FMS at the time, and the initial responses were favourable "pending various issues", but then... nothing.

Silva Screen sounds like a good starting point.

Another label that springs to mind is La La Land. A few years ago they released a cracking 3-disc set from another WB property: Wonder Woman. It had a really satisfying tracklist, covering music from every era of the series, by various composers (including Bruce Broughton and Angela Morley) and beautifully mastered. Plus nice, really comprehensive liner notes from people who clearly know their stuff. I was even able to pre-order a copy signed by several of the composers. If there was enough interest in Dallas and Knots soundtracks for them to produce a similar set it would make this wait worth it.

One of the reasons the Jerrold Immel project was shelved was because his daughter was killed in a hit and run at the time and there's been no news since.

Come on everybody. Let’s get involved and try and make this happen. The zero interest in this thread is disappointing
