Amazing thread by the way... Should be a sticky! Take care!
related to the plane crash location, I always found it odd that Jock made that speech about teaching JR the 'three of anything' rule for being found - 3 flashes, etc. Did they edit out a sequence where Ray saw 3 flashes from the air, leading him to the crash site?
Jock told JR how proud he was, and JR said he'd remembered what Jock had taught him.
Was it just an editing error? Could they not figure out how to film it?
I had just always assumed he saw three of something. Otherwise, I never thought about it...until now.
yep, I just wonder why they didn't work it into the script to make it more explicit. (Just pulled it up and it's just Ray in the chopper)
Why not insert something like this:
RAY: Why that's 3 flashes! Must be the boys! Yaaaa-hooo!
(I clearly spend my days thinking about the important things in life!)
(how on earth were they supposed to have survived that with just a few scratches?!?)
Any ideas on where that swamp may be? I didn't see anything as I was reading through this thread.
It's more rugged than the dream season treehouse area, isn't it?
It’s been too long since I have been on here! I hope everyone is doing well.
Rewatching Dallas (of course) and something jumps out at me. In season 11 Laurel is in a restaurant and you see blinds behind her and some marble.
In season 12, we see Bobby have the place for a private date with Tracey Lawton. He surprises her with a brand new pool table. A few episodes later we see JR meeting Rattigan at the same place, but it is now a strip club. I don’t have episode numbers for those two appearances, but the blinds, the palm leaves, and/or the marble appears. In some shots you can tell a bar is in the background. Here are some pictures from s12e25 where Cliff watches Afton sing.
We know some of the scenes from this season where Afton and Cliff are together were shot at Perino’s (posted earlier in this thread) but I can’t find any matching features from these scenes.
Restaurant interiors are so hard to track down! I just find it interesting that this one shows up so often! The pictures I posted are from taking pics of the TV. They are not the greatest, but I was using Dailymotion to play episodes and get screenscaps. They must have cleaned house because almost all of the Dallas episodes have now been removed.
I'm sure you know but if you have a disc drive in your computer you can take screenshots from playing the DVDs.
Yes, that usually takes longer. I find it quicker it I can pull it up on my cell phone.
Elm Fork Shooting Sports is a gun range that shows up on Dallas twice. The first appearance was in s07eo3 when Katherine meets Bobby. Later in s12e08 J.R. was here looking for
It is located at 10751 Luna Rd in Dallas.
In Season 13 Ellie and Clayton follow a mystery that leads them to Pride.
This was shot on the Warner Brothers backlot on Western Street, also known as Laramie Street. Pictures of this building on the set were hard to come by but I did find one!
I found it here: http://duly.x10host.com/california/cal2.html
This area of the backlot was torn down and rebuilt as a more modern looking neighborhood several years ago and is now known as Warner Village.
Another one of Mark’s houses has been found! This one doubled as Marilee’s.
Excellent job, jm10. Thanks for posting...
Found one while rewatching S13E12. Carter McKay goes to Follett, Texas to visit Rose at her beauty shop. We know at this point there was no filming in Texas, especially Follett!
The beauty shop was located at 10774 Washington Blvd in Culver City!
Interestingly enough this is just across the street from the florist J.R. visited in S05E26. You can barely make out the florist building through the beauty shop windows. The florist is located at 10801 Washington Blvd.
Found a new one tonight! In s13e20 Bobby drives up to April’s mom’s house (first picture). We can see 1069 on the curb as he drives up. The second picture shows him exiting the car and was shot from April’s mom’s house and shows the houses across the street. This looked like homes in the Pasadena area, so I started there. The home at 1069 Mar Vista was blurred out on Google Maps, but the houses across the street were not (third picture)! The houses across the street are what gave the location away!
Boards went down as I was trying to post last night....
In in the same episode I previously posted about, Clayton and Miss Ellie visit a friend. You can see 1200 on the curb this time.
1200 Mar Vista in Pasadena is where this was filmed - just down the street from April’s mom’s house.
Does anyone know if April's apartment building was located in Dallas or California?
I ask because I've seen it in many other television shows, which leads me to believe it's a California location.
That building is located at 10390 Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles. It also served as the Fairview where Pam stayed when she and Bobby split up.
Has anyone looked for the restaurant James and Michelle were going to buy in s13e23?
It was named Bentley’s. I have found a few old LATimes articles that refer to a Bentley’s at 3200 Ocean Park in Santa Monica. I also found a picture of a matchbook with the Santa Monica location, but the logo’s are a little different.
The address places it is a business park and some of the background buildings in the scene look like they could be from the correct area.
Separate names with a comma.
