is that Andys girlfriend who worked in the Bistro??
is Merry her surname - seem to recall that?
Yes, she is called Steph Britton and is the sister of Luke. She originally came into the show as Katie's friend.
I don't know where she will fit into the story, whether she will be part of Phelan's downfall or whether they've brought her back for Phelan to kill off, or even if she's back for Katie's death.
did she share a flat with Tina (M Keegan) used to talk with her expressive hands??
think ive placed her, Tish merry is her real name if my memory is correct
Yes, she lived with Tina and it's probably why I never cared for her because Tina did my head in. But I remember liking her more when they paired her with Andy and she worked in the Bistro.
You're right about her real name.
yes I agree, not a fan of tangoed Tina but Steph improved once she left the scene and i quite liked her paired off with Andy
i think kate oates is doing more damage to the show than stuart "The Hat" blackburn. It comes to something when you wish he was still at the helm.
I'm completely the opposite with her, I think she's done wonders with the soap and I only say wonders because I thought Blackburn took it as low as it could go.
I liked Steph and the story with Phelan was unfinished. Isn't she one of the few people who know what he's really like?
I recall him threatening her and then she was meant to do a runner with Andy.
Is that right?
I don't know how much more of this show i can be bothered with. Who cares about Michelle, Robert, Chesney, Sinead, Tyrone and Fizz. I did think Debbie Rush as Anna was good tonight. Kevin is a waste of space. Why could Phelan not have bumped him off.
I think the reason i am so annoyed with her is, i feel let down. She is a little like the Conservative Government, promised so much and delivered very little. She did a good job with Emmerdale but for me does not know where to take this show.
For me, she's reignited the Barlow family. A family that has been central to the show throughout the decades, only to lose it's charm when we lost Blanche & Deirdre. The introduction of Daniel has been really fascinating and with the story surrounding Susan Barlow's death, it's great that we have Peter and Adam back in the mix.
She's also kept the Platts exciting and giving the story of David falling for the mother of his wife's killer is genius.
She's done great with Bethany's grooming story and it feels like there is still a lot to come from Bethany.
Billy has worked much better with Todd than he was with Sean and I also love the partnership with Todd & Adam
The whole Phelan story with Andy was brilliant and totally unexpected as well as really delving into the Phelan/Anna nightmare.
Bringing back Gina and having her struggle with Bi-Polar is also a clever move
The humour has been great with Tim, Sally, Rosie, Norris, Mary, Tracey, Rita, Gemma and always great fun when David is onscreen.
It hasn't always been fun though, I've struggled with Chesney, Sinead, Kirk, Maria, Fiz & Tyrone.
I believe she is one of the few who knows what he's like and I remember a scene where he threatened her and she was going to run away with Andy, though I'm a little confused by how that played out and how Steph left but not Andy. Unless it was all going to plan and that's when Phelan hit Andy with the laptop and we all presumed he was dead.
Exciting times ahead.
