It's happening too often! First in Sweden and I don't even react with horror. Just "are my loved ones ok?" - then just react like it happened in another country. It's really sad that I don't react more than that!!!!

My sister with her family, a few aunts and uncles & my best friend live in Stockholm. They're all ok. No one was there.

Bad month this past month. London, St Petersburg, Syria & Sweden. Lots of terror.

Thank you @Sarah. Yeah it does happen too often. It shouldn't happen anywhere in the world and yet it does and of course it's a bit extra sensitive when it happens in your own nation. Even though a lot of what I am feeling today is the same as I've felt when it happened in New York, London, Brussels, France or Germany. etc :(

WTF?! Had I been drinking? Why did I write "first"? I blame media! This was not the first one in Sweden. How quickly I forget. It was only last year a guy stabbed "foreign looking" people in a school. And only 7 (?) years ago when a man blew himself up (killing only himself though). And the West German Embassy terrorist act in the 70s.

    "First"......

These attacks happen all too often but when they do occur it's still a shock. No country seems to be immune from those that what to create terror. It seems even more shocking that a country like Sweden should be attacked because they have remained neutral in global conflicts so is one of the last countries that you would imagine would be targeted in this way.

They probably got the idea from Trump's "prognostication" a few weeks ago.

The police is arresting more people today. One man from Uzbekistan is under arrest, suspected of being the driver. He had glass splinter on his sweater. I seriously hope they got the right guy! Checking DNA shouldn't be too difficult, right?

So lucky that his bomb (or whatever it was he had with him) in the lorry didn't go off! Could have been so much worse.

    4 people & 1 dog dead, 15 people injured (4 of them seriously). :(

An 11 year old girl named Ebba was killed in the attack. She was on her way to meet her mother by the subway after her school day.
So far, it's the only identity of the victims released to media.

What's even more upsetting is that she's the one whose body is seen on several pictures shared on "social media".

Think before you share, these pictures will last a lifetime and these are the pictures her poor family will forever have to face. Not a nice thought, is it?

    More info out today:

    The 4 people killed were; 2 Swedes, 1 Briton & 1 Belgian.

The 39-year-old Uzbekian suspect was to be deported from Sweden after his asylym request was denied. But he had managed to keep away from authorities and gone underground. Most likely with much help from his friends. That would explain why the police has made raids and arrested several more people.

Huge manifestation for LOVE in Stockholm today. Many people have opened their homes for victims & people from other cities/countries.

And police men & women have been bombarded with flowers, hugs, selfie-hunters & kind words.
They needed it, after the police organisation has been seriously questioned for a couple of years now.

Sorry for being cynical, but how many of those people will like the Swedish police tomorrow?

This is just show and tell. Show your affection today... but then what? The same people who gives flowers today are the same people who will spew crap about the Swedish police tomorrow. Sorry, not buying it.

If you spend your own money to buy flowers, then I believe you are humane enough not to spew venom on a single police person.

I feel most spewers are members of sites like Flashback & Avpixlat and groups like Vit Makt. Scary hateful people.

But it's a positive sign if life can go on like normal, no change what so ever. That would mean that a terrorist attack didn't change society one single bit = the terrorist gained nothing.

If the changes happen only for the warmer & friendlier, then that would be excellent. However, knowing how life went on as usual in cities like London, Oslo, Brussels, Nice, Paris & Berlin, I think Stockholm will stay (almost) exactly the same. That's a win for our countries.

Nej, jag menade att folk på Flashback spyr galla, och Vit Makt spyr galla - fast mycket värre och tar även till handling.
Men att spy galla har de som gemensam nämnare.
