I'd pick "Love American Style". I felt like the regular cast of "The Love Boat" was shoe-horned into the stories plus I can take only so many scenes of actors against a screen with stock footage of the ocean playing behind them. The one advantage "The Love Boat" had was they had the Village People and Betty White - in the same episode!
Does anyone else think it's a shame Vicki never fell overboard?
There was something a little subversive about Love American Style. The Love Boat was safe and predictable (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Yes. In fact, 45 years ago, a lot of people even saw LOVE AMERICAN STYLE as dirty!
I just watched a bit on YouTube as I had never seen Love American Style. Some interesting (and dirty!) 70s drama, but the laughter track ruins everything.
Oh, yes, that canned laughter was wall-to-wall on every comedy back then. The networks wouldn't allow you not to have it!
