Okay so after another close vote your favorite tv-series based on a movie is:

    -fame-series-reboot.jpg
    Fame (1982-1987)
This show is like the original Glee. It follows a bunch of American Teenagers
in New York City that goes to High School of the Performance Arts. It's a youth show filled with
music, dancing and stand alone episodes. But also some plots that runs over several episodes.
Over the years we get to meet characters such as Leroy, Bruno, Coco, Doris, Danny (who never seemed to graduate!)
Nicole, Jesse, Holly, Chris etc. and their dance teacher Lydia Grant.
The show stars: Debbie Allen, Jesse Borrego, Lee Curreri, Cynthia Gibb, Erica Gimpel, Billy Hufsey, Carlo Imperato,
Valerie Landsburg, Ann Nelson, Nia Peeples, Gene Anthony Ray, Lori Singer, Loretta Chandler, Ken Swofford and Janet Jackson.

You gave it a total of: 34 points.

Okay so for our next round it's time for my most favorite contemporary actress:

    Sarah_Michelle_Gellar.jpg

Sarah Michelle Gellar is an American actress, producer and entrepreneur who was born on 14th April, 1977 in New York City in the USA. Her parents were both Jewish and she’s an only child. She was discovered in a restaurant at the age of 4 by a talent agent and has been working steadily since then. Her first TV movie was An Invasion of Privacy (1983) where she played the daughter of Valerie Harpers character. She continued appearing in commercials, movies, TV-series and theatre plays throughout her childhood. Her first leading part came in Swans Crossings 1992, a youth show, which was described as a Dynasty for kids. In 1993 she landed the role of Kendall Hart on All My Children. It made her a household name and in 1995 she won a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding younger actress in a drama series.

In 1996 she landed the role as Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, (1997-2003) which catapulted her to International Stardom. At about the same time her movie career took off and she appeared in a bunch of movies. Her most commercially successful movie was Scooby Doo (2002). After her movie career had fizzled out she returned to the TV-screen in short lived Tv-series such as Ringer (2011-2012) and The Crazy Ones (2013-2014). After the shows went off the air Sarah Michelle Gellar reinvented herself as a business woman and in 2015 she launched Foodstirs, a company that sells baking kits aimed at families with young children.

In her career so far she’s appeared in approx 20 movies, but which one of her movies is your favorite?

Well I'm not surprised as a lot of her work has been youth oriented and I guess being a few years younger than she is, I was the right age to watch the majority of her films when they came out. :)

Anyway just to make sure you haven't seen her in anything you can always check her resume at Internet Movie Data Basis. @Barbara Fan Oh and it might interest you to know that a Swedish movie critic once compared Sarah and her character in Cruel Intentions to our beloved JR in Dallas! :D

Also for this round I will accept both movies and TV-movies.

    2. -
    3. -

    6. - Scream 2

    I don't feel that Scream 2 deserves more than 5 points. ;)

@Willie Oleson Swans Crossing was like a teen soap opera. :)

    Here's an old trailer:

    Here's the theme music:

Here's episode 8. Sarah shows up about 1.41 into it:

From what I remember of the show I'd say that Sarah is supposed to play the Alexis type of character. Sydney Routledge.
She was involved in a love triangle with Garreth Booth and Mila. But Sydney and Garreth were not allowed to date as their parents where in a fued or something.

Actually I've seen all of this show and also made some fan music videos to it some ten years ago!

That one focus on Sydney's character.

This one on her relationship with Garreth.

Sorry the quality is so crap. But it's never been properly released on DVD or anything. So fans have just transferred their old VHS recordings from the broadcasts in the early 1990's into DVD's.

Oh and I found this scene too where Garreth tries to blackmail Sydney:

    It starts around 3.50.

I have never seen her in anything and she is one i dont really consider a movie actress as such, not in same league as say Cate Blanchett, Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie etc
Checked IMDB just to be sure and Im afraid I didnt like Buffy - and i will stick to original Scoobyy Doo, without Scrappy Doo who spoiled it, remember seeing a trailer for film and though thats not for me!!

Well according to IMBD are Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Michelle Gellar all ranked among the top 500 stars in the STARmeter!
So well SMG is a star and she's had a couple of successful movies even if you haven't watched her in anything!
It's true though that some people would rather think of her as a TV star than a movie star due to her success with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But it's far from the only work she's done. IMHO she is a very talented actress and well when she was in Cruel Intentions she co-starred with Reese Witherspoon, who has gone on to win an Oscar and well in Cruel Intentions Sarah owned that movie. So it's my firm belief that SMG also could have won the Oscar if she'd gotten a good enough part. She really is that talented in my opinion! :)

I think the reason why her career has gone downhill is because she changed her agency after The Grudge and then she made a string of movies that were commercial flops. Some of them were good (Veronica decides to die) and some of them were utter crap (Southland Tales).

But yeah it's true that most of her movies are youth oriented. Then as for Scooby Doo (2002) if you don't like Scrappy Doo I think you will like the ending of that movie!
But yeah I can totally understand why watching a live action version of a cartoon is not for everybody! :pals:

Okay so this is my SMG Movies list:

    1. Cruel Intentions (1999)
    2. Simply Irresistible (1999)
    3. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
    4. An Invasion Of Privacy (1983) (TV)
    5. Suburban Girl (2007)
    6. The Grudge (2004)
    7. Veronica Decides To Die (2009)
    8. Scooby-Doo (2002)
    9. Possession (2008)
    10. Harvard Man (2001)

Over all I struggled with whether to put Possession, Harvard Man, Air I Breathe, The Return, Family Robinson, Scooby Doo II, Scream 2 or High Stakes in the final two spots. I find all of these movies to be about equally good. But I think I have seen Harvard Man the most and I remember Possession more vividly so those won out. :)

So that's my picks, now which ones are yours?

Surely someone else must have seen at least one SMG film. I know movies like The Grudge and I Know What You Did Last Summer appeared among your favorite horror films and surely I wasn't the only one who voted for them... ;)

    Ditto:

    1. I Know What You Did Last Summer
    2. Scream 2*

I don't really think of Scream 2 as a SMG film as her appearance is only a cough and a spit. But since I've only seen two of her films I thought I'd throw it in.

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy Scooby Doo, The Grudge and Cruel Intentions and hope to watch them at some point.

I don't really consider Sarah Michelle Gellar to be a film actress, more of a TV star, so I've not really seen much of her work. I've checked IMDB and I've only seen one of her films, Scooby Doo, and I didn't really like it much but just about enough to include it as my sole entry in my top 10:

    1. Scooby Doo (2002)

Was it? I've seen that movie and thought it was a total borefest (although I wouldn't say it was SMG's fault).

I've always loved/hated Scooby Doo. The dog and most other characters are super annoying, but I liked the settings (Spooky Island, Spooky Castle etc), the mysteries and the villains.

Yes "I Know What You Did Last Summer" got 18 points in our horror round. So I can't have been the only one voting for it! ;)
Also "The Grudge" got 9 points in the horror round and 7 points in the 2000's round.
