Michael Jackson sums up the 80s for me as the King of Pop and its scary to think he would have been 60 this week. He seemed to lose the plot somewhere along the way but he was a huge talent and had so many great songs

Radio 2 in UK are currently counting down his top 60.

What was your favourite Micheal Jackson song and why.

    Post here .........................

    My all time favorite

For me he was the ultimate pop star of the 80s and summed up the decade along with Madonna and Dallas. It was a great time to be a teenager and his legacy will live on for many more decades.

My favourite song of Michael is the sadly underrated "Little Susie" from the HIStory-Album:

It's hard to believe he would have been 60 if he had been alive.:hat:

I think it's also hard to chose just one MJ song as he had so many wonderful songs. But I think my most favorites are:

This song is special to me since it's the first time I heard of Michael Jackson and the whole USA for Africa campaign spread around the globe so back in 1985 my choir recorded a cassette tape that we sold at a bazaar to raise money to help the starving people of Africa. I remember how my parents used to tell me to think of all the hungry children in Africa who would love to have my food whenever I didn't want to eat something as a child. Not really understanding how far away Africa was I told my parents "then why can't you send my food to the children in Africa? I don't want it!" :laughs:

I remember this song from my childhood too. It was sung at some sports game in the USA where children sang it together and formed a pattern to symbolize unity. I remember it made the news and my dad called us to the TV to watch it. When I was in Junior High we used to sing this song at our Lucia celebrations.

This song was so popular at our Middle School discos. I remember watching the music video on MTV. I found it cool with all the merging faces and how he turned into a panther at the end. I also loved that it had Macaulay Culkin in it as we are about the same age so as a child I found him cute.

Some other MJ songs I also love are:

    Man In the Mirror
    Smooth Criminal
    Earth Song
They Don't Really Care About Us
I Just Can't Stop Loving You
    You Are Not Alone
    Childhood
    Speechless
The Way You Make Me Feel
    Give In to Me
    Will You Be There
    Thriller
    Beat It
    Billie Jean
    Gone Too Soon

Then there's also some songs he sang with his brothers:

    Ben
    I Want You Back
    Can You Feel It
    Blame It On the Boogie
    Lovely One
    ABC
    Dancing Machine
    I'll Be There

There's no reason, I just like the song. My favourite Michael Jackson song is She's Out Of My Life:
