Hello all! During a recent trip to Texas I took a few shots of some Dallas landmarks and visited Southfork Ranch for two days.

    EwingOil.jpg
First I had to visit the Ewing Oil Building ( Renaissance Tower) in downtown Dallas.

Next to Southfork Ranch in Parker.
    SouthforkGate.jpg
I was lucky it was a sunny Sunday for a tour.

    A walk down the driveway.

The ranch in all it's glory.

Inside the visitors center was an interesting display of most of the characters during the 1978-1991 series as well as another display with the 2012-2014 TNT Dallas characters.

LOL, I was more than pleased to see Kimberly Foster on the wall of Dallas fame. :gotcha:

    Inside the ranch.

A good look at the garage area view of SF.
The famous SF pool. Like all of Southfork it looked a lot smaller in person but great nevertheless.

    JockLincoln.jpg
Visited the garage with Big Jock Ewing's 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V. I didn't know that Jim Davis actually owned the car but that is what I was told. It was indeed a '78 as I checked the VIN numbers.

The following day I returned for a Trail Ride around the Southfork estate. Here is "Dude" the lovely American Quarter Horse I rode. :)

The staff were very nice and I would recommend a visit to all Dallas fans who are in the Dallas area.

    Thanks for looking! :ty:

So cool! I'm glad you finally got to go, and you took some first rate pictures! There is nothing for the Dallas fan quite like going there.

I really like this perspective. Nothing like a long straight driveway lined with trees to give you the impression something magical is at the end - in this case - Southfork.

    I forgot two images.... :crazyme:

Here is the graves stones of JR, Miss Ellie and Big Jock Ewing. One wonders where Garrison Southworth was buried.

And the SF patio, I can just see JR and Donna having a sharp exchange here on a bright, sunny morning.

Thank you! I was in Texas right when I heard the news of Ken Kerchival's passing. I had hoped there would be some mention of him at Southfork but no special honors were on display. To be in Dallas when one of the main characters passed away was bittersweet. My thought are with you my friend. Cliff was one of my favorites too.

So true! After seeing the driveway I imagined what it would look like in the snows of the Texas winter all lit-up. I just wished they would have tapped a few winter scenes at Southfork during the series.

Thank you! That was my intent. I was lucky the weather was nice for such a photo. I was initially confused (big surprise) at which build was the Ewing Building, the Bank of American Plaza building or the Renaissance Tower. I also took a look at the San Jacinto Tower where the Oil Barons Club was located.

I understand these are just fictional characters but Jock, Miss Ellie and JR have become more than that. It must have felt surreal standing there looking down at those gravestones.

Great pics! Easy to get confused on the Ewing Oil Building...pretty sure that company was in a whole bunch of buildings over the years! To me, it was never the same when they moved out of those offices!

I thought that Dallas, and Texas in general felt even nicer and friendlier than usual lately.

Must have been Michelle Stevens visiting and making the place even better for a few days.

It was. I kinda wish there were more gravestones to give it a sense of authenticity but that would surely confuse more casual fans of the show who may not know who the Southworths were.

Thank you! I was lucky as it was good weather during the days I was there. As you may see from the gravestones there was quite a lot of rain a few days earlier.

Thank you! I was tempted to park like Mr. Bobby James Ewing right in front of one of these buildings as if I owned it. :p They may have used the Bank of America building later as it was more impressive at first glance.

Of course, thank you! I certainly had my friends here on Soap Chat in mind while I was there. This place helps keep the spirit if Dallas alive. :)

Aww... that is such a nice thing to say. :D I had a great time in Texas, it had been a while and the people are very nice and friendly all over my Texas journeys.

So glad you had a great time. Wonderful pictures and I'm sure you were delighted to see Kim up there on the wall! I love that photo of her. I wanted to look like her as a teen! Texas really is the best and there is no place like Southfork :)

Thank you @Sarah ! I was more then pleased to see Kimberly Foster's Dallas portrait among the other stars on the wall of fame. She certainly had an iconic look for that time, 1989-'91. :)

So true, Southfork is an amazing place even after all these years. I'm glad is it open to fans to enjoy.
