He'll join in time for the winter finale then.
First Cristal. Then Cesil.
Can we expect Holecswitz to rock up from Europe in the finale?
Dear Cesil is, umm, Jeff's daddy. Bye-bye Jason, Philip ....and Sable?
Why not Ceasar Colby?
I actually think that's a good name for someone from the original show. Daddy, perhaps, instead of "Andrew"?
The end of the article says The CW ordered a full season after a decent ratings run across four episodes. So they must be happy with the ratings.
I cant wait for Alexus to appear now with Curby and Umanda. Maybe the spell check is broken on the writers computer?
How would they spell Tori Spelling?
The two Colby's they have so far, suck! Jeff is BORING! Monique just stands there. Does this mean the "office" will be up and running soon?! Even if it opens, I expect Jeff to still be boring, just standing there talking to Fallon the way he's done the past 6 episodes!
I wonder if they're going to make the same mistake as OldDynasty, i.e. Blake and his father.
Jeff doesn't come from a rich family - but oh wait, his father is filthy rich. Maybe Jeff doesn't know who is father is? A surprise daddy?
And how do we pronounce Cesil? Like "weasel"?
Alexis used to call him Sassil, with a hard "S".
It's the "e" sound that used to blow my mind. Most of the characters on original recipe Dynasty used a long e sound for his name, like "seesaw" (apart from Alexis who usually used a short e).
It's become a tradition in my household that whenever Lloyd Bochner appears in a show we're watching or re, someone will call out "Ceeeecil". Daft, perhaps, but it makes me smile just thinking about it.
But you'll have to agree that the British pronunciation of DYNASTY ("Dinnesty") doesn't make sense at all.
And if it does, then I'd love to read the reason behind it. So, here's your chance to prove your innocence, we'll be waiting right here
It wouldn't surprise me if they went down the "estranged rich father / look daddy I could make it without your cash" - I mean, Monique seems pretty well off, so are we supposed to assume she's just mooching off her brother's success? Also, she and Fallon seem to know eachother well to the point where I've almost gotten the impression that they went to school together.
But didn't Blake "give the kid a chance", like, Jeff would actually need that kind of money? Surely Blake must have known that Jeff was the heir to the Colby fortune, so that's not like giving a poor black kid a chance.
I guess we'll see if this truly will function like oldDynasty or not where there really was no logic behind certain things.
I hope he’s more Jason Colby than Cecil. I feel like they missed the mark by making Jeff and Blake enemies when it should’ve been someone Blake’s age. They need to think long term and once Alexis arrives you need characters in that age range to build a second tier of story. I hope this bodes well for Alexis arriving soon as well.
The one aspect of the show that absolutely does not work is the Colbys so I hope this is the beginning of them fixing that. Monica needs a storyline and not to just be the token black girl. She needs a love interest, to work, interact with people, etc. I like Jeff more as time goes on, but Michael is written so much better that it makes it hard to root for Jeff with Fallon. I just am hoping in general the show gets better and better which it has been.
If she can't be part of an interesting storyline then I'd rather not watch her at all.
Giving a character "something to do" usually ends up in boring filler sub-plots, unrelated to the meaty storyline (like they did on OldDynasty so many times).
So, instead of giving her a love interest, I'd like to see her become part of what's already going on, even if it is a small part (but it's often the small contributions that can give a main storyline a wonderfully unexpected twist).
Willie I do agree that I don’t want her to have a filler story just to pad things, but I do think she deserves a love interest and everything else I mentioned. The actress is good, she has chemistry with the cast as well and if you look at the original Monica there are things they can pull from. I just find it so odd she’s just there. They didn’t even say her name for weeks so everybody was sitting around thinking she’d be called Monique. She and the Colbys in general need to not be after thoughts.
