Sadly, none of these new features will prevent my PC from dying.

I'll have a look around to see if I can find an addon that does this :14:

Luckily, I now have a new computer --- so much easier to hook up than those old ones... although "delete" is much harder to find.

Me too, that's why i have the same small, ugly plastic xmas-tree for 23 years now

But a few weeks ago they announced in Germany that they would like to reduce the tree-killing for christmas by renting trees! I LOVE that idea, you rent a tree, it comes complete with roots and soil and stays alive, and after christmas they take it back and replant it back in the woods where it can recover until next year. Like this, one tree can be used up to 6 or 7 years and stays alive. You can even tell that you want the same tree next year again and you can watch it growing bigger and bigger each x-mas and it is basically becoming part of the family somehow. What a simple but great and lovely idea! I wish that would spread around the whole world and every country would do the same with their x-mas trees!

    @Ome:

Why do some threads have five gold stars attached to them?
Who decides which threads should be marked with the gold stars?

Because some members have rated that particular thread.

You or anyone in the Soap Chat community.

Look at the top of each page to the right and you will see how to rate threads.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan of the newest changes to this site.

The fact that I have to click "READ MORE" to read more than one line in a post is quite honestly annoying. And it makes it impossible to just skim through a thread, because the posts no longer make any sense. Let me give you an example:

    upload_2018-2-12_19-47-9.png

Need I say more??? The reply above makes absolutely no sense!

Now, if it was made possible for members to choose themselves whether or not they want to use a "READ MORE" function, that's perfectly fine with me! But the way things are right now, should not be standard, IMO!

Another feature that I'm not a fan of is the new icons next to "INBOX" and "ALERTS". In my humble opinion, there is no need to use both words and icons! Thus, choose one or the other, please!

PS. It would be really nice, if changes made to the site (like the ones mentioned above) were mentioned in a thread in the "Feedback & Help Forum".

Yeah, that "read more" is really dull. And the new symbols next to the alerts and conversations are not necessary as well. The forum names on the main page keep getting bigger and smaller every few days as well.. :re:
Before those all was fine. Never change a running system... ;)

I like the new icons for the inbox and alerts because pictures are more fun than words alone.

I agree. As someone who can't read I find it very useful indeed.

I also think this website should have more audio, especially for alerts. And very loud please because if I'm standing in the kitchen I may not hear it.

I hate to join in the pile-on, but I see no reason to have miniature versions of our avatar photos next to our names at the top of every page.

Just now I came across another new "thing" that leaves me very puzzled:

    upload_2018-2-13_11-44-44.png

Why does my reply to @Rove's post all of a sudden require "moderator approval"??? o_O

@Ome: Perhaps, you can jump in, if you know what this is all about? :)
