Yes, it is the season-ending cliffhanger.

Description: "As various members of the Carrington family decide between preserving their legacies or protecting their personal relationships, allegiances are tested--while dark secrets from the past resurface."

We open this episode with Eye Candy: Liam emerging from a morning dip in the pool. Oh, and Fallon's in a bikini top too.

Their morning is of course spoiled by Adam, who apparently is now an intern at the soccer team while Fallon is officially running it...while also running Femperial. The protesters gather outside the Femperial offices to point out Fallon ought not be working with her father, who was "violent toward women" (the door slamming on Cristal's leg). Someone even dumps Pepto-Bismol colored paint on Fallon (wearing a white suit).

Anders supposedly had a mild heart attack, but is already trying to get out of the bed and go back to the estate. His absence will be noticed, he says. Meanwhile, Blake is too busy rolling around in bed with Cristal, recapping plot. Apparently everyone still thinks they are splitsville, and Cristal hates that they can't tell Fallon what they've been up to all this time.

Kirby says "Blake needs you...but don't think that he cares about you."

Keep an eye on the Guest Stars! (Or don't, because it might get your hopes up and take your eye off the ball).

Jeff's "recovery" isn't as easy as he made it out to be--the doctor tells him the neuro-toxicity of the paint fumes is still doing damage. He will start losing his memory, mobility, etc. He tells the doctor to keep it under wraps, but now has a much greater sense of urgency (and seems willing to take a lot more chances).

As if Fallon's plate wasn't already full, Liam has a ten year-old secret. Wonder if it's a boy or a girl? So Fallon confesses about her ten year-ago secret--a friend named Beatrice "Trixie" Tate fell over the balcony at the mansion. Too bad Adam was lurking once again and heard the whole story.

Jeff confronts Adam and points out that he and the other board members hate him, and Fallon (who absolutely despises him) now owns the team. Blake can't protect him, so Adam is FIRED entirely. Tantrum time! Was that @Snarky's Ghost 's crystal skull that went flying, or some sort of homage to Hamlet?

Shortly after, Jeff does the well-worn "What are you doing here?" scene in a deserted parking garage where you don't know who he's looking at, but you're pretty sure it isn't the Tooth Fairy.

Blake is still lying to Fallon about his breakup with Cristal, and uses his "losing everyone" (Celia, Steven, now Cristal) card to beg her to come work with him. Fallon is torn.

The scene from the preview with Liam and Fallon boating on the lake. I LOVE that get-up Fallon is wearing. Fallon proposes to Liam (again) and he says "Hell yes!" She accidentally drops the ring into the lake. The lingering, thoughtful shots of the lake throughout the scene seem foreshadow-y. Adam "offers to help" by hiring some divers to find the ring in the lake. [/cue Jaws theme] His overly-familiar act is really wearing thin with ol' Liam.

Stop the presses! Someone in the mansion is speaking with a Southern Accent! :D It's the minister, who apparently was also at Tom's funeral and Fallon's infamous Confirmation party. Too bad the minister spills the beans about being there to marry Blake and Cristal.

Fallon realizes Blake and Cristal were lying to her, who then goes to Michael and they figure out Cristal and Blake have set.him.up. She wants to "right the wrongs" with him.

It was Dominique in the parking garage! And she helped Jeff come up with a great plan to send Adam to jail for killing Jeff. Well, not quite...he takes off for the Bahamas, having set up a 'crime scene' with evidence implicating Adam in his disappearance/death. Dominique then remembers removing the Adam evidence...because Blake isn't going to resume her payments unless she 'gets Jeff out of the picture'. So...mission accomplished. But why would she not leave the fake evidence to frame Adam? I'm now wondering if his 'prognosis' was a lie, too.

Alexis never seemed able to come up with and execute a plan that flawlessly (or quickly), so maybe there's hope, after all.

Liam confronts Adam about the ten year-old, having figured out Adam got the info from Laura. Adam attacks Liam with a flower pot and packs him in a disused room (in a definite homage to the Celia/Alexis scene in the last cliffhanger). Liam wakes up, breaks out and stumbles into the pool. No one notices because they're all at the lakeside....

Fallon confronts Sid and Nancy at the altar, but now it looks like she's going to push it right back at him...but through a lot of complicated dialogue, everyone's businesses are now in different hands. Fallon was unable to undo the frame-up that Blake and Cristal staged, and Adam made it look like Fallon was part of the conspiracy somehow. Fallon had sold Femperial to Kirby for $1 with plans to go work with Blake...until she found out about Blake's latest betrayal. Kirby announces she isn't going to sell it back, either.

After all this, Anders announces he has had enough of their shit. Sam needs a guy like Anders at his hotel, and he might just get one.

The divers Adam hired have been working in the background the entire time, and
Adam has a flashback to his time with Steven, where Steven spoke of what happened to "Trixie". So Adam knew the whole time about the girl in the lake?

**James Mackay got a Guest Starring credit just for a ten-second flashback? Methinks the producers were just faking us out via opening credits and toying with our (ok, my) emotions. Oh, it was good to see him again.**

    The divers
announce they have found....two bodies! Mack, and then "Trixie" in rapid succession.

Line of the episode? Fallon to Cristal:
"What you don't deserve is that hair."

    Th-th-th-that's all folks!

    Thanks @Daniel Avery
I haven't read your resumé this time, as I don't want to be spoiled. But I'm interested in your opinion : did you like it ? For you, was it better, equal, or less good than the season 1 finale ?

As a side note : Paula Sabbage, one of the head writers for the show revealed that the Dynasty writers are saving Steven's political career for a potential 4th season arc

Trying not to get too detail/spoiler-y...

I think the Season 1 cliffhanger better fit the image of what a 1980s nighttime soap fan expects from a season-ending cliffhanger, so most people will say season 1 was better for that reason alone. In my personal opinion Season 1 was better simply because it was easier to follow and understand the stakes of what was happening. By :45 into this episode, the action was becoming more about reactions to dialogue-based revelations, with precious few visually-compelling events. I had to listen closely to what they were saying, and I confess I lost track of who was trying to put one over on whom, and what the characters knew and didn't know with respect to back-stabbing and scheming. Just as I got a grasp of what was happening with one story, they hit us with another. With so many characters converging at once, it was inevitable that it was more talk than action--but I think some of it could have been addressed in the first half and left on reserve for next season.

There were some good visuals (especially the drone cameras doing overhead shots) but nothing as iconic as the burning stables in season one. You could watch the stables burn and you knew what the worst possible scenario could be for the various characters. As of now I have no idea what all these confrontations and accusations mean for the characters in season three--but then, maybe the writers don't, either. Maybe this was just their "everything but the kitchen sink" exercise and they will pick and choose what to pick up in the new season.

I'll be watching it shortly but this seasons cliffhanger sounds dreary. From the 10 second trailer to those two images posted in another thread most agreed the body in the lake was going to resurface. Who the hell is Trixie? Was this a character from original Dynasty or a plot created specially for Peach Dynasty?

I think they're at least setting it up nicely for next season: Anders and Sam will run La Garbage obviously.

    Kirby at Femperial.

Surely, Monica will have to be upgraded to series player now? Though I guess Dominique will be handling his business...

Culhane is possibly in prison? Two, possibly three, dead bodies on the Carrington property, but Liam is too pretty and hits the CW demographic so nicely so maybe they'll just put him in a coma, though a writer ending up floating upside down in a pool is pretty typical. Maybe they can do a Sunset Boulevard in the season three premiere and have Liam narrate it.

Most of us figured Jeff was a goner. I wonder if the original plan was to have Alexis marry him and help fake his death?

What an underwhelming finale, there are no cliffhangers that I really care about. Last years finale really had me hooked and eagerly waiting. But this years..The two bodies, I mean Carringtons get allegations every single day, they will get out of this with a few jokes and it will be over.

Worst part for me is that there is still NO actual development with Cristal, give her something. And Liam is not gonna die hes in season 3 synopsis.

Last years finale was so great, but this one? Not finale worthy at all

I thought they made a wise decision to not go with another "burning building", so to speak and have the cliffhanger more based on what characters were doing vs a big fire threatening to engulf them all. I agree that the later is probably what most people expect from Dynasty, but doing it again so soon would be ill-advised - someone pointed out that Star (RIP) pretty much did the same components in their cliffhangers for three seasons in a row so at least they aren't getting into a stale formula.

Overall I'd probably rate the season as C+. I wish they'd tighten it all up a bit - they could've done a better job with Sam being drifting all season and going to become a hotel owner; maybe even show him lose his way a bit more (why wouldn't a hot gay guy in his 20s party more?). Kirby taking Femperial from Fallon was also interesting, because most of the season she was stuck in the same rut as Sam; I think they could've built up showing that Fallon was hopeless at the book business (and, well, business in general) and Kirby kept having to clean up her personal messes, making her decision more based on that rather than spite over Culhane. Alexis exiting couldn't be helped, but it would've had more impact if she had been the one to help Jeff fake his death and becoming mrs Colby in the process - I do think that was the plan and if that's the case you had three drifters ending up on top by the end of the season.

I liked the finale and season overall. It really hit it's stride in the second half. I love that Dominique is written more as Blake's equal and not a buffoon like they did Alexis. They definitely set up an interesting reset for season three if they take it. I could be okay with Michael going away, Jeff no longer being on contract (they barely use him as it is) and Liam being in peril. We know Dominique has a family so Jeff leaving opens them up to potentially featuring Monica more and introducing her other kids. I also loved the throwback to the original with the bodies in the lake.

What I learned with season two is never to really expect anything with this show. It is bonkers and you never quite know what you're going to get. I've grown to enjoy it for what it is and they definitely gave me enough to anticipate next season.

Thanks for your point of view. I have seen the episode now. I liked it. It wasn't as strong as season 1 finale, and I think the writers missed their final twist.

Most of us guessed Mac's body in the lake would resurface. But the minute Fallon talked about Trixie to Liam, I knew that her body would resurface too. So there was not suprise, no twist.

Why having Fallon explain this to Liam ? It wasted the twist.

Imagine, if we knew nothing about Trixie : at the end of the episode, Mac's body resurface (and we all saw that coming the moment Adam hired the guys to find Fallon's ring), and bam ! here the second body. A girl who's been there for years... The guy says the body still has a gold bracelet on the wrist that it says "Trixie" and Fallon whispers the name at the same time (so we know she knows something). Then, and only then , we have the flashback of Adam and Steven talking (Steven saying he didn't saw what happened between Fallon and Trixie, but he saw what Blake did) This way we have no clue : how much Fallon is involved ? What happened between her and Trixie ? Did she kill her, or was it Blake ?

This way, we have better cliffhanger : who is Trixie ? What did really happen ? And most importantly : we never saw that coming.

All the writer did was foreshadowing Trixie's body the moment Fallon talked about her with Liam. There was no surprise anymore.

And imagine if the bracelet said "Amanda" instead ? (it will end up to not being "Amanda Carrington" but a friend of Fallon bearing the same name) But our imagination and expectations would go wild till season 3.

Anyway, It was good to see Steven. I hope he can come back as a regular asap
Dominique is interesting. But I don't get my hopes too high : Alexis in season one was interesting too, and it led to nowhere.

I agree that they wasted the twist by revealing that Trixie fell off the balcony all those years ago - pretty much by the time that Fallon dropped the ring in the lake, we knew what was going to happen. As we guessed they found Mac's body in the lake, them finding another one would've been a delicious twist. Then again, maybe they didn't want to take it down the mystery route as to whodunnit as it might have been seen as underwhelming to reveal that Fallon killed her by accident.

Although, thinking about it - all of the Carringtons are now murderers/killers:
    Alexis - Mark
    Blake - Mac
    Fallon - Trixie
Adam - his adoptive mother/kidnapper, potentially Liam

OMG, this was so exciting I almost threw up!

Adam kisses Liam, they're doing this to please us, I just know it. They're so hot together.
But the characters are outnumbered by all the skeletons!
Two bodies coming out, one body going in!

The toxic paint proves to be more damaging than we thought, and Dominique - that BITCH! - double-crosses her dying son. I love her!

So, it looks like everybody's hating everybody now - and well done, Kirby! She's learnt from the best.
I'm NOT feeling sorry for Culhane, he's the one who started all this.
A fantastic, twist-y episode, I even got some Knots Landing vibes from it.

    :10:

In the final moment I almost expected the second body to be another victim (i.e. not Trixie)

But NuAlexis didn't want to destroy Blake, she just wanted money.

Is this really the end of Jeff Colby? Maybe Alexis will return as his widow? She went to Europe but maybe Jeff was talking about the European Bahamas.

No, Adam pretended to search for the ring but hoped to discover Trixie's body. Mac's body was a surprise to him.

    Good story, bad writing.

First, is it possible that Peach D had special writers for ending episodes? Season 1 and Season 2 finales look way different from the rest of the season's eps. I know some events are linked, but both look like related TV movies.

***** CAUTION, SOME SPOILERS AHEAD (MAYBE) *****

Second, I completely agree with some of the posters, the story, though interesting, lacks of surprise. The Amanda option instead of Trixie, or maybe Mandy, would've given something to talk about for the following 5 months. Or expanding a little more, just a mention about Trixie having a younger sister called Mandy who was sent to Europe, and who was the privileged one and Trixie feeling always in the shadows became drunk that night. Maybe I'm giving ideas for next season, hehe

Third, Liam. He's nice to Fallon, but the guy is becoming boring. He's just the guy with Fallon. Doesn't he have friends? Idk, give something to do with his life for God's sake!

Kudos to Dominique. Apparently she's more of a ruthless bitch than original Alexis and maybe this Blake. And finally, they got rid of Jeff. He was useless.

I really hope La Garbage brings new stories. Sam is not interesting anymore.

Can't wait for Bliss Colby entrance!
