Supposedly, the producers were going to bring in a lesbo storyline but Jane nixed it.
Maybe if we'd found out Angela and Jacqueline had been dating in the '40s.
I can see Jacqueline more interested in someone like Connie Colby...
Angela could clean her toilet of course...
Which is a shame - I feel like Dallas was way too "Old Boys Club" for a proper gay character, while Knots wasn't outrageous enough to have a lesbian storyline. Dynasty felt just right for a gay storyline (even if they screwed it up several times) and Falcon Crest and Dynasty always felt more in line with each other, so FC having an out and proud lesbian would be appropriate.
Maybe something for Julia in the later seasons - it would explain why she was so miserable and her becoming a nun. Eventually she just had to accept it.
Although everything is so gay 24/7 today that, in retrospect, I'm not sure it was needed.
Well, I'd argue that the network execs at the time would likely butcher the plot so maybe Jane nixing any such idea was a blessing in disguise.
I think Emma should have been bisexual. To me, she was the most open minded person of the bunch anyway.
Father Christopher should have been gay and that should have been the reason why he rejects Melissa.
But he could have fallen in love with Joseph. Or would that be a too typical catholic priest storyline?
