Should there be a Roaring 20s party in the new show too?

I mean why not? Considering how big "Downton Abbey" was, it wouldn't be too out of place for the Carringtons to host such a party.

They had an '80s party. Maybe that was their equivalent.

We need a masquerade ball. But only when Ben and Caress are around.

Okay, but only if this time at the end comes out, that Alexis and Blake are technically still married, and Cristal bursts out in tears "Nooo, this can't be true!!!" :spinning:

If Dynasty makes it to New Decades Eve or Day, then the theme could be a 1920s one, after all the upcoming decade will indeed be the 2020s! ;)

I know they're trying to deny what's right in front of them, but they are in Atlanta. If they want to do a period costume party, it would be logical to do a Gone With the Wind theme. It could be their take on the Ren-Fair party, I guess. The only problem I see is having Cristal and Alexis both showing up in the Scarlett O'Hara dress. They will pick each other's dress apart, then end up rolling around on the floor screaming and pulling hair.

Come to think of it, the final shot of the cliffhanger looked a bit like the burning of Atlanta scene in GWTW.

I like that idea! :D Only I can't really see Cristal and Alexis choosing the same Scarlett costume. Alexis would choose this:

    While Cristal would choose this:

Actually, it seems more likely Alexis and Fallon would choose the same costume... only I see Fallon in this one:

(She'd use the umbrella/parasol to hit someone with )

I fondly recall Nola and Quint's engagement party on Guiding Light which had a GWTW theme. Nola (the bride-to-be) and Vanessa (the sister of the groom) both arrived in a dress similar to the one you place Cristal in, and the catfight that ensued is legendary even after (oh, golly) thirty-five years. That was the "Scarlett O"Hara dress" I was referring to--it can be torn apart quite easily, as I recall. :D Seeing them roll around as the hoopskirts fly is still an enjoyable watch.

Alas, I'm sure the PC crowd would shoot down such a party, so I'll have to stick with memories.

You never know... now that I think about it, I'd love to see Monica (and maybe even Dominique, if she's around for such an occasion) to dress up in GWTW costumes - *not* as Prissy or Mammy, but in gorgeous evening dresses with hoop skirts and such. Monica would look lovely in this:

Great minds think alike. I looked up that very clip with the intention of pasting it into the post but decided not to because it was not a single-scene clip. All the single-scene clips of the melee are terrible video quality since...well, it was 35 years ago. Nola/Quint was one of my first 'ships before they even called it 'shipping. Good to see them again, though--those were the days when "budget" wasn't a dirty word.

Maybe they could do a roaring 20s episode, all in sepia. Or a silent movie.

Maybe Fallon or Cristal or someone slips, hits their head, and has a dream where they're all living in the 1920s... not sure I'd have it all be in sepia, though. Heh, though maybe there could be one scene that randomly becomes like a silent movie, before things go back to "normal".

Also, I imagined that if Dominique did appear at a GWTW/Old South party, I imagine her dress being the book-version of Scarlett's red dress - only in the book, it wasn't red. I remember being surprised by that, since I had seen the movie before reading the book. But I remember that the dress was described being jade-green watered silk with a bustle of pink roses. That's what I'd have Dominique in. :D

The can do a roaring 20s party when they unveil Alexis's jewel box Deco penthouse. There. Case closed.

That would mean they'd have to make it to Season 3, which would take place during the 2019/2020 year. Which means the episode that takes place before the "winter break" could be a New Year's Eve episode, with the Carringtons throwing such a party! :D
