Emil i Lönneberga 5. Karlsson på taket 6. Ronja Rövardotter I suppose I should re-watch them, its been a long time!
We have a result. Our favorite Astrid Lindgren adaption is actually a TV-series: Yes it's Pippi Långstrump: Pippi Långstrump (1969) Tv-series It's a story about a nine year old girl who is an orphan. Her mother is an Angel and her father went to sea when she was a baby. Pippi lives by herself in Villa Villerkulla with her two pets, Herr Nilsson, who is not her legal guardian but a monkey and Lilla Gubben, which is her horse. Pippi is rich since she has a bunch of gold coins her father's left her and she's the strongest little girl in the entire world. You gave it a total of: 39 points. Here is a trailer for the winner: and here's the theme song with English lyrics: Then the runner up was: Ronja Rövardotter (1984) This is the story of Ronja and Birk. Their fathers are the leaders of two different gang of robbers who are rivals. But their children become friends. In the summer they leave their praents and go out to live in the woods where they experience some adventures. You gave it a total of 31 points. Here's a trailer for that movie too: Then finally here's the rest of the list: Emil i Lönneberga (1975-1976) 28 points. Vi På Saltkråkan (1964) Tv-series 24 points. Okay so up next is this legendary actor: Sir Sidney Poitier is a Bahamian-American actor and director. He was born on 20th February, 1927 in Miami, Florida, USA. His parents were farmers from Bahamas who were only in the USA on business. So Poitier grew up in Bahamas as the youngest of seven children. At the age of 15 he moved to Miami and then at the age of 16 he moved to New York City. He then enlisted in the army for the Second World War. After he returned to New York City he began his acting career with the North American Negro Theater. His first movie was No Way Out (1950) and it was the start of a very successful acting career. He was one of the first black actors to ever win an Oscar for the movie Lilies of the Field (1963). In his career he has made approximately 50 movies. But which one is your favorite? Totals: In March.
I think I can name more than one, but not too many more, sorry @Karin... 1- Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (87) 2- Paris Blues (61) 3- Band of Angels (57) I may have seen some others but my memory is completely blocked out...I did love his performance in the Hepburn-Tracy film but it may be a bit outdated for those who call themselves "millennials" I think his activism and importance as a person overshadowed his film career, and probably for good...Movie business sucks...
I always think of Grandad in Only Fools and Horses who called him Sidney Potter I have only seen one 1 Guess who is coming to dinner. Sorry!
1. The Defiant Ones (anyone who hasn't seen many Sidney Poitier films I can't recommend this film enough) 2. To Sir With Love 3. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner 4. Buck and the Preacher
Unfortunately I can also only list one film: 1. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (1967) It's a really great movie though and I love how they have a topic of a couple from different backgrounds. I think at the time it was considered ground breaking.
