What do you do when you have that feeling of being so bored/down/depressed that nothing, not even what you usually like doing, seems fun?

I have that feeling right now. Happens every now and then, not very often though. Maybe it's hormones or whatever, doesn't really matter. Normally I go to sleep or take a nap, which usually works. But I'm not even remotely tired, so that won't work yet. Music, telly, a movie, reading, crosswords --- all seems boring right now.

I would really like a quick fix to this issue. I hate this feeling.

I hate that feeling too. I don't know a lot of the time when I am bored I end up here!

Maybe eating some chocolate will help. Or positive thinking. Tomorrow is a new day. So hopefully you will feel better then. :)

I find myself eating when I get bored, so I have to make sure I'm "actually" hungry before I start tearing into the junk food or whatever.

It usually only lasts a couple of hours for me. So I do believe I will wake up happy tomorrow.
BTW: Chocolate helps with most things. ;)

Do something useful, something that you don't need to enjoy.

I wish I could do those awful things, but with this mood comes insanely low levels of energy. Even blinking feels like a necessary evil.

Oh, do attempt to become lesbian! It's fun.

I'm prone to bouts of depression so whenever I feel it coming on, or I feel bored, I leave my house and do something, anything. I find staying in just compounds my negativity.

I find going for a run to be the most effective way of raising my mood, even if I don't want to do it, I just get dressed and get out of the front door. I tell myself to just run for 5 mins but once I start I generally run for a lot longer.

If I don't want to run, just walking in the park or going around looking for things to photograph. Sometimes I take a train into the centre of London and once I'm there I always find something to do.

The important thing for me is to do something and very quickly it leads into doing something positive that I enjoy.

Absolutely. Your mind tricks you into thinking that you can't do anything at that moment.
The energy is still there but you have to stimulate it, even if you're feeling tired.
Once that first bit of mentally suppressed energy is being released, there's a chance it will multiply.

And if that doesn't work then at least a physical activity (especially outdoors) will make you physically tired and you'll sleep better, thus giving your mind and body the opportunity to stabilize.
