Try to let it go. The potential TNT Dallas had has been covered here ad nauseam. It was what is was. Dallas will always live on on DVD and streaming (CBS Dallas that is).
Agreed. But its fun typing about it.
Yea.. They murdered any potential it had. That's the biggest crime drama of it all.
I have all the Dallas DVDs, but it's not the same as getting new episodes. Everything else gets new shows: Fuller House, Longmire, Gillmore Girls. Dallas gets nothing. Warner Bros has not even posted anything on their Facebook page since January 16, 2015. https://www.facebook.com/Dallas/
Perhaps so, but at least it was new episodes.
I dont want any new episodes of Dallas
What TNT dished up was Dallas in name only
It was a big pile of C**P! and IMHO it sucked
It failed, bombed and I dont wish to see the memory of a once great show tarnished even more
Dallas is well off the radar now - Im more than happy with classic Dallas, classic cast and my DVDs
Maybe if the original series was streaming on Netflix, but I don't want to get out DVDs every time I want to watch something and knowing all that happens I tend to fall asleep. I need new content to keep my attention awake.
That's like saying "I stood in dog shit, but at least that dog had caviar for lunch" llol
Is there something wrong with wanting new episodes with possibly a new show runner on a better network than TNT (Trash Network Television)? DALLAS can't just end and be gone forever with Christopher blowing up in a car and John Ross finding out about some mysterious sister.
It got cancelled... A long time ago. It's not coming back... Not any time soon and certainly not in the TNT version.
Fine. I give up. Everyone hates Dallas and no one wants to see it return to television again with new episodes.
No it's not that. I'm sure loads loved it, but just not enough to keep the viewing figures high enough to save it from cancellation. I'm afraid the ship has sailed.
The garbage trash TNT new shows after Dallas was cancelled have even less viewers.
And it will likely face cancellation too.
And their not the only ones. I've noticed the guys at ultimatedallas.com have gone awfully quiet. No new interviews that I can see and some of the information, especially the Ewing Family Tree has not been updated for sometime. I wonder if, and when, they'll seek out new interviews especially with the likes of Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and ask the really tough questions about the failure of Dallas TNT - probably not.
I would be fine with a new "Dallas" series if someone brilliantly found a way to successfully merge the original series with the more bizarre aspects of TNT's "Dallas" and then move on constructively.
But it would have to have more in common with the original show (albeit with a modern tone and focus on John Ross & Christopher primarily) while simply acknowledging the events of the 2012 series.
And it's unlikely a new show would wind up in such good hands.
Very well said. And they would need to be exceptionally "good hands." Most Lorimar Dallas fans (me included) suggest the last few seasons of Dallas (1978-1991) were a dogs breakfast and oddly enough we had Leonard Katzman and Larry Hagman at the helm as Executive Producers. You would think those two had enough knowledge what made Dallas tick but everything that I loved about Dallas had turned to crap.
I've made my peace with Dallas TNT. As for any continuation, prequel or re-boot, well that's out of my hands.
Especially since the old posts are gone.
I have no problem with people talking about it. I figure if you don't want to talk about it why are you in this tread? I say go with what you want. If I don't like it I'll go onto something else. If I do I'll post. Say what you want and enjoy. Doesn't hurt to dream.
