I just recently was looking at Southfork on YouTube. Some areas could definitely used a paint job.

    10 bedrooms? 91,616 sq. feet?

I guess the hotel is included.

There is definitely something off with that listing as it said the place was built in 1988. But as everyone who's watched the show knows the Southfork ranch house was built much earlier!

1970 to be exact. Originally called “Duncan Acres.”

I wonder at what price the ranch would be listed today if "Dallas" never happened. Would that house even still be standing or be worth anything?

Absolutely. Why wouldn’t it? “Dallas” has definitely added to its value, but it’s a beautiful house surrounded by lots of land.

If I had won the $107,000,000 in the lottery last week and Southfork was going at that price I'd purchase it as my weekender.

Judging by Google Earth surrounding estates are encroaching ever closer to Southfork. It would be a real shame if a future purchaser of Southfork began to sell off surrounding lands.

Speaking of Southfork, one thing I wish they hadn’t done is put those Christmas lights all over the roof.

Real estate listings routinely have years shaven off their age.

it would probably be just the old ranch house from the Southworth days, and that would likely be long gone

I would love to know where the 10 bedrooms are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????

There is only 1 upstairs and the biggest shock when visiting it was how small it is indoors.

The outdoors is fab but inside is tiny for millionnaires lol and the interior was so tacky with themed bedrooms especially Bobbys which he might have had at aged 8 and a half!

That's the first job on the list for the Ranch Foreman if I purchase Southfork. I'm assuming I'll just walk over to the hayloft to speak with him - or her ;)

    In my Dallas continuation I've always envisaged the first episode taking place at Southfork looking like this;
    Southfork 1.jpg
A throwback to how it all began in 1978. A warning to outsiders; this is a cold family to deal with. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Oh I would love a mini tv-series filmed in the winter to properly wrap the whole thing up. The cliffhangers TNT left us with needs to be resolved! :(

Also it's interesting how the original show was filmed in the summer, giving us the impression that it never snowed in Dallas, Texas.

Or as I refer to it; F.L.E. Frustration Level Event. And TNT Dallas is off the richter scale for me.

Ive stayed at the SF Hotel twice - Ive still got 12 of their pens lol - but I believe it is no longer affiliated with the Ranch and standards have gone down a bit, and no longers offers the free shuttle to the ranch - which was great as I went every day and at different times and got in for free

Ands I dont want any more SF on TV! Please dont make me dislike it like TNT and Bobbys character. Dallas is over - and its an 80s show and many of the cast are dead including the Compulsory guy - Mr Hagman

Bringing back the old Google Timelapse images because they illustrate this point exactly unfortunately.

That housing development right behind the ranch makes me question what the actual boundaries of Southfork are. Is the back line closer than I think it is?

1984 (I believe Southfork is where I've circled red)

2016 (again, Southfork is the red circle)
