Okay so the votes are counted and not so surprisingly our favorite movie from the 1930's is this classic: Gone With The Wind (1939) This movie follows Scarlett O'Hara's life during the Amerian Civil War. It's an epic romantic drama which places the fall of the old South in the center of it's plot. It also includes a classic love triangle as Scarlett is in love with Ashley Wilkes but he loves Melanie. Then later Scarlett meets the dashingly handsome Rhett Butler who is no gentleman. Gone With The Wind was produced by David O'Selznick and Clark Gable was offered the male lead while they did a wide search where they interviewed over 1000 girls for the heroine Scarlett. A role which Vivien Leigh eventually landed. Other noticable stars in the movie are: Olivia De Havilland and Leslie Howard. The movie is considered one of the most commercially successful movies ever and is also considered one of the greatest films of all time. It had two directors Victor Flemming and George Cukor. The movie is based on a book by Margaret Mitchell.
